That is... that is just really petty, and lame. And probably an indication it's someone that viewed the forums, because it was down so much that only people checking on here would even know it was up.

I can almost guarantee he's not doing it himself. You can pay a service to DDoS someone relentlessly and whenever you want for dirt cheap. It's an almost unwinnable battle for a low budget server......sadly.

to me that just sounds like the server host has done something not quite right at their own end.

Can you not try get it moved to another IP as a test? (the DDOS attach will be targeting one IP address.)

Don't publish the new IP till the test is complete. If it still happens on the private IP during the test, its the hosts fault somewhere during the move

Also try getting the server to run another module perhaps? rule out everything?

Is there anything that non-Staff can do to prevent or protect BGTSCC from getting attacked? There is a whole community here, with resources I'm sure, and that would be more than willing to support BGTSCC get onto solid, stable footing.

What he said! I happen to know there are some people in the community with some knowledge in these things. With some luck, there's quite a lot of them with more knowledge than I have!

Speaking of which, I also still have a working player counter on my server. One that also always get's the current server IP (should it change again).

It's heavy based and my height offers an advantage; offering an amazing damage bonus should it really be a male. Pretty sure I can duel wield too.
