*A letter is delivered to Hiohe as he is overseeing the work on the Whistling Wanderess. It is brought to him by a poor street urchin girl with red hair and no shoes, She holds one hand out with the letter and one for a copper coin*

-The contents of the letter are two hand written copies of documents and a personal note to the captain-

"Belladona,

Hiohe Dacino of the Whistling Wanderess has agreed to help us evacuate people of Scornubel with his ship, however he finds his crew understaffed. Will you please make contact with him and bolster his crew as needed.

For the sanctity of the coast,
Sveta Asperan"

"It seems we are going to have a chance to sail my friends and I call on all of you. I understand that evacuating towns and working for captains is not the kind of job most of you signed on for. However I would remind you that this threat effects us and our ship building project as well as the rest of the coast. Also banking some points in good will could not hurt our standing with the Dukes. I myself am sorry, But will not be able to be there do to a bad illness. /// I have to work :P /// Those of you that can make it please find Captain Hiohe Dacino of the Whistling Wanderess before it is to late!"

OOC: Bloodlust will be hosting the event on Wednesday the 12th (tomorrow) at 20:00 GMT / 12:00 (noon) PST / 3:00pm EST

I am placing my crew in your hands and under your command. From Officer to cabin boy all have been instructed to follow your orders and aid in the evacuation of Scornubel. Do see that I get them back alive.

Alsarias would quickly enter the docks area, searching for the Whistling Wanderess... if he sees it dockside, he would approach the gangplank, identify himself and ask to speak with the captain as quickly as possible.

Having been staying on the Wanderess the last few days, Hoihe'd greet Alsarias, explaining that Mealir is absent. He'd then continue by saying he's the commander in his absence, a captain by courtesy if he will and unless he needs Mealir specifically, he can take care of any ship-related requests and questions.

The ships is being outfitted with bulwarks. Sailors count about fourteen pavise tower shields being nailed to the side of the ship.

The ex-bookseller and recently returned wanderer Jon Smythe, could be seen on this day pushing a large cart covered by a loosely woven cord sack. As the cart is huffed over the cobblestones from the eastern district to the harbor, slight winds occasionally lift the cover to reveal a fairly large amount of stacked, salted pork.

A bit of sweat beads down Smythe's forehead as he makes his way, the large brim of his black hat providing just enough shade from the late summer sun, to keep his mood regular...just barely enough.

Arriving at the docks, and in front of the Whistling Wanderess, Smythe can loudly be heard shouting up to the deck:

"Alright navigator...cook's assistant was not what I had in mind! Lorrain...you bastard elf!" says Smythe, a slight smile upon his lips. "If proving my worth as crew gets me off kitchen duty, then...pass on down the orders, and quick!"

Smythe is relieved when general crew comes to take the large cart of salted pork aboard.

Hoihe would look down at Smythe from the ship, with a smirk "So you have spoken with our fair 'Gourmet chef', then?"

After the Navigator Dacino replies down to Smythe, Smythe puts foot onto gangway, and begins to walk aboard.

"Aye, as you say. Time to set sail and discover that undiscovered treasure you promised!"

Once on deck, Jon Smythe places his hands on his hips, and grins, smiling about.

"Welcome aboard then!" Hoihe lifts his tricone in greeting. "I don't think there's anything standing in way of listing you as crewmember then, especially if Lorrain already got you running errands!" finishing with a chuckle, he points to the flag.

"I'll need to figure out a way to get you and Drake a signet ring, as most everyone of us has one. Mine makes me sing, dance and speak better. What kind of ring would fit you? It'd be mundane in its appearance, without any special letters. Those are reserved for the merchant officer, the captain, the navigator and the first mate."

After some pondering, he'd finally motion him to the quarters and offer him to choose a hammock and chest.

Hoihe and Soora eventually arrive at the pier, with a cart that has 3 boxes packed onto it. They then carry it on board, into Hoihe's laboratory. It's soon declared that the crates are choke full of alchemist's fires and are not to be disturbed.

However, instead of taking exact count or inventory of the purchase, the couple leave to go dancing at the Helm and Cloak!

Without much of a warning, or indeed time for all sailors to assemble the Whistling Wanderess leaves port with whoever was nearby or on board early in the morning to attend to its obligations in the coming battle for the Outpost.

Sailing upstream the river, exploiting her stalwart rigging and construction, the Wanderess tackles its own way in a method that might leave a lesser ship with damaged ropes or even sails.

And indeed, right at the meeting of the forces does it deploy its lifeboat, and her acting captain rows the soldiers back and forth.

And indeed does it take them across, to their very own landing, safe for the moment.

The Whistling Wanderess appears to be outfitting for war.

Crates of ballista bolts, small sized rocks are brought into the hold as skilled craftsmen spend time affixing a pair of ballistae, one for each broadside and a catapult at the bow on the ship.

Further, the bulwarks are replaced and strengthened alongside the patching and tarring of whatever leaks sitting in the docks might have caused.

A Jon Smythe, maybe known maybe not, can be seen at the harbor district, directly near the Wanderess, watching the outfitting of its decks with armaments and defense.

He is often standing, observing...and shaking his head.
