Second Attempt With Rogue...

Unread post by Altonmyr »

This time I got rid of SB and Put fighter in there and took out GFK or the 10 levels of whatever. Changed to human, moved feats around, increased Int.... pretty much revamped it entirely.

You will want crippling strike and epic precision in order to be able to do sneak attack damage to sneak immune enemies. You can drop combat insight and improved crit. You will do so much sneak damage that the +3 damage you get from combat insight is insignificant. Sneak dice don't stack on a crit so that really isn't a big bonus.

I think you can drop expert tactician without any real loss as well.

You also might consider going for epic dodge since that helps avoid attacks when you come out of stealth to land your sneak attacks.

You also could consider taking skill focus hide and skill focus move silently. The +3 to hide/move silently is very useful. If you can fit stealthy in there, that is nice too. That would bring you to a +5 hide/move silent bonus.

And Perfect two weapon fighting is also a must as it will allow you to get more sneak attacks in the first attack flurry out of HiPS. Another thing Rogue 19 gives you another bonus feat, better to take that than assassin 9, last thing : you don't really need able learner.

-never stop at an odd fighter level.
-take blindfight much later (,if at all).
-there are much better daggers at the vendors than shortswords.

-a low str-char. is barely able to lug any of his newly found treasures to a vendor. (that's even more painful if you are a new player and don't have gear/coins to mule.)

Going Kukri's since I swapped to Halfling to keep my dex for expose weakness, dropped a rogue level and added Fighter, Picked up Epic Dodge, Precision and Expose Weakness, Stealthy and Skill focus (Hide and Move Silently). Keeping Imp crit so if sneak fails I can at least toe to toe them with a low crit ratio.

That's how the Cookie Crumble's... You guys are amazing.
