Elow,
I want to start playing on the surface a bit, and i decided to create a swashbuckler for that. However i dont really know what to look out for when building a swashbuckler, the description sounded neat though xD
Can someone recommend me starting stats? I think Int is very important, right? Also which PrC are good to build into?
Race is gonna be lightfoot halfling
thanks

Re: Halfling Swashbuckler advice
Here is a possibility : http://nwn2db.com/build/?222922
Using short sword + chainshirt + shield, solid all around and it gets weakning critical at the end (which is a treat).
Another possibility, a BGTSCC version of Thorsonn's Didi, http://nwn2db.com/build/?222924
Rapier used with two hands, no armor at level 30 (uses armor until level 27 or so), high damage.
http://nwn2db.com/build/?189743
Another possibility, using two kukris, dual wielding in armor, solid all around as well :
http://nwn2db.com/build/?208508
A version getting all the swashbuckler goodies, you've got to be patient though.
There are also versions with HiPS, like this one : http://nwn2db.com/build/?77026 personally I dislike those "cheaters":P
All in all plenty of possibilities to build a swashbuckler, it depends how you envision your PC, precise things and solutions can be found

Re: Halfling Swashbuckler advice
Thanks a lot !
I will most likely go for the first variant, don't really wanna go for dual wielding
One question though: You take the feat for exotic weapons, why? I mean it's using a short sword, right?

It's in the "Notes" : "Exotic proficiency stands for shield specialization (+1 AC on a specific type of shield)."

Re: Halfling Swashbuckler advice
I enjoyed messing around with a Swash 17/Duelist 10/ Rogue 3
Never actually hit level 30 outside of the test module, but it seemed decent, could hide, too, and position himself to do some extra sneak damage.

Re: Halfling Swashbuckler advice
TBH if you're going with a small race then you really should be 2Hing your weapon with Duelist or TWF with IB.
I fancy myself a bit of an expert in these builds, given the number of small race melee characters I've played. Here's a couple of my builds:
"Way of the Shadows" TWF F12/SB5/IB5/Asn8. Only problem is that with a Hin you get an XP Penalty for the last 7 levels. You do great damage against anything except sneak immunes and you can still get decent damage against them; AC is OK too with the 5 from IB and you have HiPS, Death Attack and the Assassin spellbook. AB is high enough to turn on CE and you can even get ICE for more AC if you want.
If you're not stuck on Swashie, then I have a great build that's similar, I call "Durza Blint": F12/Asn8/Dl10. You can take 18 Dex and 26 Int and still have 40AB; you get 10AC from Duelist with Assassin's Fox's. You'll take CE as well (to get Combat Insight) so there's more AC if you want. For damage you get 2d6 Precise Strike, Flourish, 8 from EWS/MWM, 2 x 10 for Int and the 10 Combat Insight will benefit from the 1.5x for 2Hing a weapon, plus 4d6 Death Attack.
