The Song of the Morning bustles with much activity as of late.

Letters and missives are sent to and fro. Galloping steeds are sent north at odd and curious hours to head for mysterious locations.

The priests are busy blessing quantities of water and the temple seems to be trying to acquire whatever alchemist’s fire they can get their hands on.

The chants of prayers can be heard even outside of the temple, voices from the clergy hopeful and bright even as their features are set in a grim determination.

The Knight-Commander can be seen kneeling in front of the Song of the Morning in a curious manner. His gaze is fixated on five dead flowers on the bush directly outside of the door.

A heralding?” He can be seen muttering to those gathered about as his fingers reach out to trace the dead yellow petals.

* A ragged looking beggar boy arrives at the Song of the Morning Temple in Beregost. After trying his luck at begging a few coppers from what generous souls he might find there. The boy delivers a message that was given to him *

"Dear friends at the church of Lathander. I am putting quill to ink this day in the hopes that you will come to my aid and the aid of the realms. There is a foul vampire that has been feeding on the good people of the swords coast. This vampire goes by the name of SlemGem the Bloody and she is both a powerful arcanist and demonologist. The vampire queen (as we have come to call her) makes her home on the hell plane of Avernus. She is granted protection there by a pit lord named Gogast. For months the Phoenix Company and allies have tried to put this creature down. Our every attempt thus far has failed. Now with many of the Company gone or resigned, I have taken on the responsibility of slaying this vampire. Last week we attempted to attack the beast in her lair, On the plane of Avernus to nearly disasters results. I fear that this situation is becoming hopeless and I am loseing faith that the vampire queen can or will ever be defeated. In short I need your help."

A pale looking woman dressed in leathers with a greatsword across her back quietly enters the temple at Beregost.

As she approach the attendant she fidgets with the scarf around her neck while looking pretty nervous.

I need to speak to a priest as soon as one is available good sir. Peering around she adds: Before nightfall would be nice if manageable.
"Drojal zhah obdoluth dorb'd streeak, Lueth dro zhah zhaunau dorb'd ogglin."
"Existence is empty without chaos, Life is boring without enemies." So sayeth Lady Lolth, Queen of Chaos.

Two golden robed figures, of soft step and beatific expressions are seen arriving at the Song of Morning Temple. Later, they are seen wandering around Beregost, speaking kindly to any who approach them and taking in the natural beauty of the surrounding area.

*Clad in her armor with a damp, heavy from the rain crimson cloak wrapped around her shoulders young squire arrives at the Temple of Lathander not long after dawn. She removes her hood, smooths her tousled hair and sit in one of the pews awaiting for the clergy to be done with their prayers before approaching the priest.*
Image
"Greetings sir. I am a squire to Head Watchknight. My name is Eleanor, could I speak to you for a moment?" *She bows her head respectfully in proper greeting and once allowed to speak freely she goes straight to the point* "I wanted to ask for your expertise regarding a certain object" *Ellie says in a clear, level soprano while revealing a small package, still wrapped in clean linen cloth.* "We used them during the plague spitters hunts. From what I understand about those crystals balls" *She unwraps the item to be able to show it properly to the priest.* "They channeled positive energy and kept the spiders in place unable to move for some time, in a way weakening them. Therefore, given the spiders were undead, I was thinking if we could use those objects against the undead hordes. Could they be crafted by the temple? And if so can we create a stronger version? If that was possible we could use them to trap undeads, at least certain parts of their forces and proceed with guerrilla attacks instead of head on assaults." *The young woman looks up to the priest, hands clasped behind her back while awaiting his response.*
DM Bloodlust wrote:"These seem to channel positive energy outwards from their center. I suppose they can keep an undead being locked in, but they're equally adept at keeping them out. They are limited though, and the energy stored within will run out eventually after a few uses.

We could examine them further, but it might be exceptionally difficult to replicate. Might even be dangerous, but we can at least look into it"
*Eleanor nods, rubbing her chin in thought* "I could make an inquiry at Candle Keep about these as well if that would help. And even if the energy runs out after few uses that would still bought us a little time. It's all we can hope for anyways." *The young squire sighs lightly then offers a kind, grateful smile* "Thank you, I will check on the progress soon." *Ellie dips her head respectfully before leaving the temple.*

*Loriah can be heard practicing the "Chant of Light" she made up, at the temple for the upcoming celebration... much like the "Song of Dawn". Any around can join in if they feel so moved. She would outstretch her hands to those in the pews when it was their turn to join in.*

Loriah :
"From death come new life,
There is always another morning,
and In the dawn, beauty reigns ... and the way is clearer."

All : "LIGHT OF LATHANDER, HERE OUR PRAYERS"

Loriah :
"Help us strive always to aid,
to foster new hope and new ideas,
show us the light of new prosperity ... for all humankind and its allies."

All : "LIGHT OF LATHANDER, HERE OUR PRAYERS"

Loriah :
"Protect us with your holy light,
against these vile abominations,
plant these seeds of hope in our minds ... for a rosy future for all."

All : "LIGHT OF LATHANDER, HERE OUR PRAYERS"

Loriah :
"From death come new life,
There is always another morning,
and In the dawn, beauty reigns ... and the way is clearer."

All : "AAAAAAMEN !" ... DONG! *the church bells ring*

All : "AAAAAAMEN !" ... DONG! *the church bells ring*

All : "AAAAAAMEN !" ... DONG! *the church bells ring*

*she then smiles looking at Commander Eldarian for his approval.*

DM Bloodlust wrote:"Falling into sleep, Loriah feels herself gasping for air, her heart speeding up to a frantic pace. As she attempts to speak in her sleep, the exhale is caught in her throat, the face nearly turning red as she struggles to relax as her mind fills up with light, clearing all other thoughts. Nearly wild-eyed, but unable to move her physical body, she gets the sensation of flying through the air with the wind strong in her hair. She is guided forward by some presence, and time and space seems inconsequential, difficult to grasp.

The white clouds darken to light gray, and from gray to an ever increasing darker shade. The landscape below flies past too rapidly to spot details, despite her keen eyes, but she does see the ranks upon ranks of undead skeletons...moving. She looks up for a brief moment, and when she looks down they're replaced with zombies oozing of disease and rot, as the landscape is transformed from barren fields into moors and swamps.

She watches the undead move in silence, but there is a nagging presence, a splinter at the back of her mind, of something unseen. She moves her head to the side, and looks behind her, but there is but a fleeting image of something...prone to decay. The image is quickly fading and replaced with more viewpoints of the undead ranks, but she feels a wrongness in it all.

She makes out some places. The fields of the dead. The high Moors. The Troll Claws, each sweeping by, coming and going. She feels her grip on the dream fading as well, and she looks around. There is something here, beyond her vision that a presence wants her to see, yet it's just beyond peripheral sight...She senses it, decay. Rot. Pestilence. A loving warmth. She looks around more frantically, trying to see, with quick movements, but it's to no avail. There is a massive skeleton with a greataxe and a greatsword among the ranks. There is a bony deformed creature tainted with madness and green light, and another skeleton in fine purple robes at the head of drowned zombies. A vampire moves in the shadows, as does other creatures, but they're in full view. Neither amounts to the presence beyond her sight, that terrible thing that must be seen yet evades sight.

She begins to slip in concentration. The landscape becomes more and more blurry, the colours mixing in a chaotic pattern. Everything goes white, and with a sudden jolt she is fully awake gasping for a deep breath.

A vision from Lathander. But of what?"

The evening of the eighth cycle of Elesias saw the return of a presence, both familiar and unfamiliar, to the halls of the Song of the Morning temple. There it was, that a woman of golden hair and porcelain features had closed the door behind her and breathed in the first breath of a place she had known once as home. Though she herself was different from memory; dark fur wrapped at the shoulders of amber-hued armor and faint scar tickling the edge of an upper lip, it was the confidence in which she made approach to the altar that was most starkly contrasted of all. Cecilia Lafayette had returned to the Song of the Morning.

Following brief conversation, hours that ticked toward and past the middle of the night was time used in the unpacking of a room that had once been claimed by she; adorned now with less personal effects than a time previous, but in no way lacking the warmth of life that had once again coloured it's walls.

In the early light of day Sveta Asperan visits the Song of the Morning before embarking on her journey north, seeming to hold more warmth in her features than days prior. She leaves the following note folded in half upon the altar, a necklace rests atop the note holding it folded. Beneath the necklace it is written Eldarian Al'maire. Though unsigned the handwriting may be distinguishable. Before she leaves she speaks quiet words with Kelddath or whichever priest available warning them of a blood driven drow repeatedly attacking travellers on the road to the north.
The dew before morning's light

In the quiet hours of morning before first light,
the flower hugs her petals close bracing the harsh night.
From the shrill winds her fragile colours lay guarded,
Protected, though the stars of the nights sky are shrouded.

Alone she shivers reminiscing on days gone past,
fearing the thought that this night may be her last.
She had forgotten the dawn is ever to rise,
Thinking that the day is lost to bleak night skies.

To the joys of the sun that once gave her life she pleads,
of why he abandoned her despite her noble deeds.
Stubbornly she stands, winds blowing against her control,
A small bead of dew forms, a solemn weep from the soul.

With her gaze lost in reflection of the abyss,
the warmth on the horizon was easy to miss.
Beneath dawns apricity the bead of dew falls,
She breathes again with hope to once more stand tall.

In the light of dawn, a neatly cut and pressed slip of parchment finds its way onto the local notice board within Beregost. It speaks of a ceremony to be held in the coming week by the Lathanderites of the Song of the Morning temple and welcomes interested parties to participate and spectate as desired.
