Osmodeus Blacksoul... Revised Biography

Osmodeus Blacksoul is a suave, sophisticated, urbane, and affable man who also happens to be a priest of a powerful fiendish entity. Having made a pact with this being and promising to worship and serve it in exchange for power he was granted many terrible powers of unknown provenance to use in it's name. This deal has drastically changed his nature and as a result he is gradually becoming a fiendish being himself. In addition to being able to project flames against his enemies he has gained a host of other powers such as invisibility, super human speed, the ability to shroud areas in darkness, and the ability to deflect arrows and magical rays among many others. Now he wanders the land gaining power and furthering his gods will.

Base-Attributes: 8 Strength, 16 Dex, 8 Con, 14 Int, 8 Wis, 18 Cha.

Note: Making the pact had a price, while Osmodeus dex, int, and cha were boosted his strength, con, and wis were reduced.

Personality: Osmodeus is a very complex individual. On the one hand he is capable of great evil and malicious intent when and if he feels such is warranted. He will do whatever he feels is necessary to ensure his survival and bring about the defeat of his enemies and rarely if ever hesitates doing so. When confronted by evil beings out to get him or those he considers allies he always uses evil means against them as he firmly believes in fighting evil with evil, atrocity with atrocity. He tries to avoid conflict with the forces of good but were he confronted by them he would definitely retaliate. He does not outright hate the good guys as some evil beings do but rather thinks them naïve and weak, unwilling to do what needs to be done due to their obsessive attention to non-existent concepts such as ethics and morality. On the other hand he can be quite benevolent and kind to those who treat him well or leave him alone and will often aid others without thought of reward. He is not out to cause suffering and does not take pleasure in such simply viewing it as doing what needs to be done. He follows a simple rule, "Do unto others as they do unto you". To those who are kind to him he will be kind, to those who are indifferent to him he will be indifferent, to those who are nasty to him he will be nasty. He is not outright hostile to those of good intent but firmly believes in so-called evil doctrines and will not change his views on this regardless of circumstances.

Appearance: Osmodeus always dresses to look as mysterious and sinister as possible. Long flowing black robe, heavy black cowl, and large black staff make up his wardrobe. He wears many different pieces of jewelry all of which are enchanted with various magics designed to increase his already potent abilities. His head is completely shaved except for his well groomed goatee and eyebrows. He is always well-groomed, immaculately clean, and dressed for success.

Origin: Osmodeus is unlike many people in faerune as he is not native to the continent and infact is not native to Toril at all. He came unwittingly and by accident to faerune after stumbling into a portal that some careless wizard had opened to his world and then promptly forgot to close. Worse the portal collapsed shortly after depositing him in faerune and now he is stranded there unable to return home and unsure how he will ever return there. The powers he gained from his patron still work however and so he is not completely helpless and has a much better chance at surviving then one without such benefits would have in the same situation. Now he seeks to gain power, find and have a word with the absent-minded wizard that brought him here, and eventually find a way home.
