Thoughts on this build. DaggerLock

Unread post by plykin »

I would just like some feedback on this build. It was originally already made by someone else and i just took it and made some changes to allow on this server.

I realize the skills have not been finished yet. I am going to do that later.

Start rogue at lv 1 for a billion free skillpoints. There's no maximize eldritch on this server though so get blind-fighting instead, it's absolutely necessary for warlocks.

Ditch CHA, it's only decent if you solely focus on DC's. My lock has a 26 CHA and his DC's are still pathetic so your 16/19 CHA will be a complete waste. Your saves won't be good either without blackguard so get more CON instead. I would do:

STR 10
DEX 16
CON 15 (+3 con item)
INT 16
WIS 8
CHA 10

Or less INT and more STR if you want to carry more. Or 17 DEX and a different feat at lv 21. I'm not sure if daggerspell mage gives you more invocations on top of dice but if it does get vampiric feast.

I'm playing a similar build (the classes split is the same, but with a drow). You will end backstabbing with HIPS more than blasting, so I'd change WF(RTA) for Dark Transient, you'll get a +1 and get double time with Flee the Scene. And I'd take Expose Weakness.
I'm not sure if daggerspell mage gives you more invocations on top of dice but if it does get vampiric feast.
It does, you get invocation progression except on one level (I don't remember if in the 1st or 2nd). Yes, take vampiric, in some situations is an auto-win.

And just one more think. I ended my (planned) build with Daggerspell instead of Warlock, so I can maximize the stealth skills. I don't know if you'd prefer to do so... although I'd recommend it.

You should alternate shadow dancer/dagger spell mage more with Warlock levels as it will help as you are leveling to keep your stealth and other skills in line. Getting shadow dancer as early as possible will really help save your skin if you get in a tight spot so I would move mobility to take shadow dancer 1 at level 8. Then I would go SD 2 at level 18 lock 19 and SD3 at 20. SD 2 and 3 aren't bringing much other than class skills so alternate with lock and take as late as possible.

Generally without able learner it is best to alternate classes to keep skills up throughout the build without ever spending at a 2-1 cost.

I think i am going to try for an arcane trickster instead. I really want a Sneak RTA. Anyone have any ideas on how i should build it. I think i need Epic Precision, I am not sure on feint though is that more for melee sneakers?

Also would it be out of the question if i pick sorcerer instead of wizard. I not a big fan of memorizing and sorc only takes one more level to get trickster requirements.

Something like 14 sorc/10 AT/3 SD/3 rogue, However that only gives me 7th lvl spells. Perhaps wizard is the only way? Thoughts?

Just realized i wont be able to take epic precision without losing some levels in sorc and getting 10 rogue. Do i need epic precision for RTA spells sneak attacked? or invisible needle? or is it just for melee.

Epic precision wont help here. RTAs arent recognized for it.

Halfling (gets bonus to AC on large critters)
Str 10
Dex 20 (23)
Con 14 (18)
Int 14
Wis 8
Cha 8

Feats:
AL/CE
WF-Dagger
TWF
Toughness
ICE
IC-RTA
Practiced Invoker
Eldridge Master
Rest in blast feats

Your AC will get to 46-50 depending on items
HP will top 360
CL is 29
Damage is very nice! Make sure to get the cold blast as it does double damage on fire giants.

This was my Ruby character should anyone remember, and she took no crap off no one. Never lost a PvP either.

Sorry i cant change thread title. I am thinking of not doing warlock at all since they cant sneak attack spells like arcane trickster can. So i want to change my play style to that of a HIPS spell caster with sneak attack damg added to spell.

Something like this for RTA sneak attack caster. I realize skills are messed up still thinking about them.

I believe sneak attack works with eldritch blast too so you can mix rogue/dagger spell mage with lock and still have sneak. That said if I recall there is a very nice rogue/wizard/AT/ASOC. Focused on RTA with auto quicken for lesser orbs out of stealth. I forget the exact breakdown, but perhaps R3/W10/AT10/AS7. sorc should certainly work in place of wizard.

Does meta-magic apply to sneak dice? Probably not, but if it did...ouch, quickened empowered / maximized lesser orb with sneak dice.
