Frost King on steroids

This is nothing.

One time I fought pit fiend with my fighter (the same one that's in UD now). So all's well, I get him down to ~10% and then he downs potion of greater restoration that puts him back to full HP. I died of shock

Doesn't greater restoration only heal 150 hp?
