Picking a Chest getting xp but no loot

hey Alabaster was picking chests doing the stolen goods quest and getting XP for the Chest but on looting was told it was too high...quick question is this a Exploit? i feel it is

not particularly, there is just some gap in the level difference that you may be able to still loot a chest, but as far as the xp goes you get xp from any chest you havent picked twice

the picking doesnt check your level, its only when you open the chest, and if you open it once it closes it locks right away

The pick level and the loot levels are different, but usually one or two within each other. I noticed this in the chest in the underdark. Never checked to see if it was "exploitable". I guess you could sit around, wait a minute, re-pick it, and get another 12 - 25 XP... ...but that's really boring and killing stuff is easier and faster XP gain.

that doesnt work bc the xp is on the same cooldown as the loot respawn, or at least it should be
