Suggestion ; Server Day to RL Day Ratio

Unread post by PaulImposteur »

Currently our time-line runs 1:1, which I don't find much of a problem with.
I do like the idea of being able to move time a little faster, however.

This will have a poll for preferences on these sort of things above, as I'm interested in what other people like.

Keep in mind the 'Server Day' is actually 1:1 when it comes Faerunian calendar against Earth calendar. The game changing from night to day repeatedly in our real days, does not reflect actual time moving forward.

My basket lays 2:1. I think it doesn't abrupt the current feeling of the game, and I feel it would fit a little better with the constant in game night/day changes.

In the end this will effect little when it comes to RP, as most tend to super-impose their own personal 'time-line'. Such as making a weeks absence into a month, or some such. Which is a common and (to me) acceptable RP.

What this does effect however, is the overarching meta-story. This is simply due to time moving forward at a faster rate, for example; the times of trouble will reach here a little faster.

The exact and equal negative affect of its (in my opinion) positive affect, is that DMs will have less time for their preparations and can burden them more.

Time of Troubles will be used as an example for the poll, Which I simply estimated to 6.3 years away (2230 days)

As you can see from the poll, these day to day ratios make a huge impact on upcoming things. This can be an awesome thing for being able to feel like things move on larger scales. Or it can be unrealistic, because right now we move in a nice and gradual change, that feels natural.
