Dorne

Name: Dorne

Appearance: His face appears somewhat ageless, neither old nor young, but written upon it are the memories of many things both glad and sorrowful. He is of medium height, stocky and strong, his stout body being outlined by tight cords of muscles. All his movements are large and perfectly balanced like those of a skilled warrior. He is almost indistinguishable from a human except for his diamond like eyes. There are no noticeable marks one can see besides a small tattoo resembling a great lion's head outlined in a mane of amber on the inside of his left forearm. As well, as some sort of marking (perhaps of divine making?) on his face that resembles angelic wings.

Clothing/Armor: The shoulders are fairly pointy, quite short and enormous. They're decorated with three sword handles on each side, they're all pointing downwards as if a sword has been pierced through the shoulderguards. Each sword is an enameled gold with the shoulderguards being a deep ebony, like the rest of the armor. The upper and lower arms are protected by squared, layered metal rerebraces which sit well under the shoulderplates. The breastplate is made from many layers of smaller mithral pieces, mimicking the scales of a dragon. It covers everything from the neck down and ending at the groin. The upper legs are covered by a skirt of many layers of mithral sheets reaching just below the groin. The lower legs are protected by greaves which have a dagger attached on the outer sides.
Weapon: This red-hued sword has a silver blade styled to resemble a mountain. The guard resembles a pair of griffon wings. Its grip is of a gold-yellow wood with a pattern made of squares and crosses stained into it to ensure the user has a steady grip when in battle.

Race: Human
Age: 29
Height 5ft. 8in.
Weight: 200lbs

General Health: Average
Primary Deity: Nobanion
Secondary Deity: Lathander
Initial Alignment: Neutral Good
Profession: Merchant, ex-bodyguard
Habits/Hobbies: Enjoys collecting magical items, wands, scrolls, etc. Unlike most other earth genasi, he prefers to wear boots since his former master insisted on him wearing them.
Languages: Common, Elven, Thayan, Thieves Cant (dealings with thieves guild during his time as a bodyguard)
Weapon of Choice: The sword, but also familiar with magic due to his previous training focusing on anti-wizardry combat

Background:

1322 DR - Year of Lurking Death
Dorne was born into a small community of nature worshipers in the Shining Plains along the Wet River. The village, Arbather, had a number of the citizens affiliated with the Emerald Conclave that governs the area. The community also had several Wemic families that migrated from their prides on the open plains. Dorne's father was an ordained Lion Blade of Nobanion, while his mother was a former priestess of the Morninglord.

1335 DR - Year of the Snow Winds
Soon after his thirteenth name day, a drow surface-raiding party attacked Arbather. The drow enslaved the wemics that weren't slain in the melee and killed all the inhabitants, save for Dorne. Dorne was spared when the male drow leading the attack realized he was an earth genasi. Upon regaining consciousness from the attack, Dorne was surprised to find himself chained, face to face with a human. Her name was Dahlia Darktear. She introduced herself as a diviner, merchant, and captain of White Wind, a Halruaan skyship, but most importantly, his new master. Dorne would discover during the next decade of magical enslavement that Dahlia was in fact much more then what she described.

1344 DR - Year of Moonfall
Dorne found himself magically bound to a chair as the gavel slammed down, calling the room to attention. He and Dahlia had been apprehended the day before by an overwhelming force of Halruaan Mageslayers. Dahlia stood accused of selling state secrets to dark elves along with a myriad of crimes stemming from her position within the Thieves Guild. Dorne's list of crimes was almost as lengthy and devious. The judge looked down upon Dorne, a single piece of parchment in his hand. "Through our investigation into your master's crimes, we have discovered that you, her bodyguard, were enslaved through magical means. You're cooperation in these crimes was forced. Rather than hand down the mandated sentence of death, you will be exiled from Halruaa on pain of death." The magical bonds dispelled immediately. Dorne was quickly ushered from the room, and shoved into the open world. Free for the first time he could remember.

1345 DR - Year of the Saddle
Having no where to go; Dorne made the journey home to the Shining Plains. Upon finding no trace of his childhood home, he continued on towards the Guthmere Forest knowing that area to have followers of Nobanion. By sheer chance (or perhaps divine intervention), Dorne happened upon a camp of Lion Blades on the outskirts of Nathlekh. One of the older members of the group had served with Dorne's father. After hearing Dorne's tale and current lack of direction, the elder Lion Blade implored Dorne to make haste for High Watch in the Osraun Mountains. High Watch is where Dorne's father trained and where all potential initiates were to report (should they receive an invitation). After meeting the Lion Blades concluded, Dorne felt as if he had purpose for the first time in his life. Arriving in High Watch, Dorne was immediately questioned by the higher ranking members of the Pride. After confirming he was in fact of his father's blood, Dorne was bestowed with the rank of initiate, allowing him to begin the path towards becoming an ordained Lion Blade.

1351 DR - Year of the Crown
Finally, his time had come. After half a decade of training and news of an undead army encroaching upon Baldur's Gate, the Lion Blades at High Watch determined Dorne was prepared for his Rite of the Noble Hunt. The pilgrimage designed to test faith and training to the very limit, but should Dorne be successful he will complete the first major step towards becoming a Lion Blade and following in his father's path.
