number of attacks question

Unread post by Hakken2 »

My character Bhor Stonecutter has a BAB 12 and should have a changes to make more attacks then one each round. But it never happens.

He has 19/14/9 with the dwarven waraxe.

Im im wrong or is it a bugg?

That's the correct number of attacks

You gain 2nd at BAB = 6 and 3rd at BAB = 11. Your 4th attack will come with BAB = 16.

With a BAB of 12 you should have 3 attacks per round, which you do. 19/14/9 is three attacks per round.

Characters with 11-15 BAB will get 3 attacks in a combat round (spanning approximately 6 seconds), provided the sequence is not interrupted in some way such as moving around or being stunned, to name a couple.

Were you moving around a lot in battle? If so, movement "cancels" the attack sequence and you will need to wait for the next combat round to roll over before you can attack again.

I think you might be confusing rounds with flurries.

Rounds are simply 6 second intervals where you go from highest to lowest AB attack.

Flurries happen 3 times in a round, thus, to have 2 attacks in your first flurry you must at least have 4 attacks in the round. It does not matter if it is from dual wielding, Haste or BAB.

This is also why Sneak Attackers go for massive amount of attacks/round, even if the majority will never land: it forces the game to put more attacks in the first flurry.

As a side note... the most OP thing in terms of flurries imho is a monk assassin dual-wielding kamas, who is hasted and affected by Legionaries' March near a 30 BAB character
