I'm currently reading The Iron Jackal by Chris Wooding.

Thids - read the Fencer books when they first came out; didn't find them particularly weird, but then, when you've read as many fantasy books as I have, weird is normal.

(Some fantastic stories in there, I'm currently reading them one by one to the end!) He's such a colourful writer.

(This is very interesting but hard to read (I've cried so many times already) so I put it down every so often and choose other books while keeping it going). Found this book in a charity shop, it's signed too!

A nightstand is a bedside table...


I am currently working my way through one of Iain M. Banks' books, "Surface Detail". It is set in a sci-fi world and he has tons of books in the series although they are all stand alone so you can just pick up and start reading. I like his books but there are always some parts in them I struggle with because they catch my interest less so I need to leave them to rest for a while before I continue.


I also always have a Sudoku book nearby! Some nights I cannot fall asleep without solving one.

The Culture. I've read them all and there will be no more, which is a great shame. I found them hard to put down at all; I'm sure I finished some in one sitting.

I typically read 1-3 novels a week. I'm currently working on Lasher by Anne Rice. Before that I read The Witching Hour (also by Anne Rice), and The Wise Man's Fear and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Before that was The Mountain Man books by Keith Blackmoore.

I tend to like reading entire series back to back. I don't really have anything on my nightstand so to speak, I tend to just decide on what to read next after I finish with whatever I'm currently working on. I think next time will either be some old school Michael Crichton (The Andromeda Strain or The Lost World), or revisiting parts of the Harry Potter series... or maybe Book 3 of the War of the Spider Queen series. The Spider Queen novels are an exception to my usual back to back reading.

I'm beginning to think he's going the way of Jean Auel... That is to say nearly a decade between installments.

Not sure whether I can answer or not... is it aimed at a specific group, or just everyone?
If I AM allowed to answer...
Normally I read 1 new book every week and re-read 4-6 others, because I can only get one new every week. (Kindle Fire is awesome I have like 90 books on it.)
However, these past few weeks I've been reading RA Salvatore's Legend of Drizzt series, which is longer than most of my books, so those numbers are down to 1 new, 1 re-read every week.
