Continuity error?

Unread post by fearknight2003 »

Ingame, no matter who I ask, the consensus is that this happens BEFORE the Time of Troubles.
However, Captain Deudermont of Waterdeep can be found in Baldur's Gate. He has white hair completely. But six or seven years after the ToT, this description of him is given:
"The captain was a tall and straight-backed man with a perfectly trimmed goatee that was still more brown than gray."- Sea of Swords, Legend of Drizzt
White hair implies years have passed from Sea of Swords to BG:TSCC. But BG:TSCC happens BEFORE the Time of Troubles, and Sea of Swords happens AFTER. So... what is this?
It was a fun year (I think). Bye.

Server Timeline

The year is 1351. Time of Troubles doesn't begin until 1358.

We are pre-Time of Troubles, as you rightly say, fearknight.

I'd have to double-check your sources on the NPC, but I suspect you are correct -- it is a continuity error, and his hair should be more brown than anything else in our timeline. We can try to get the NPC reskinned at some point.

In the past, we have had a few NPCs who were incorrectly made "old" in their appearance and descriptions when the server first rolled out, but would be middle-aged or even pretty young in our setting. We try to fix them as we find them. Best example that comes to mind is Old Moruene (Duke Eltan's magical advisor) vs. New Younger Moruene.
