I'm not Evil, but I like to play one on BG. :twisted:

Imagine teleporting an unwilling person (or creature) from your presence—c'mon, this is typical snotty irritated Mage behavior!!

Would it be interesting to have an Unwilling Teleport spell for BGTSCC, which would require a Save, or maybe 2 (like Fort & Will both).

Something I clipped from the Internet:
The dimension spells in the Players Handbook II (Dimension Hop, Dimension Shuffle and Dimensional step) all let a caster teleort another creature, but not every far.

Tactical Teleportation, in Complete Mage, also allows for short distance teleports.

Trobriand's Baleful Teleport, found in the Forgotten Realms Waterdeep book, allows you to teleport even an unwilling creature away.
Sure, you are thinking immediately all the ways this will get used by PWNERS, but since Death is Relative...doesn't it sound like total F.U.N.??!!

I love it in theory, but in practice I think you're right...all it takes is one jerk to go around teleporting level 19 PC's in front of the Balor all day... "muahahaha, I just cost you 1,900 XP"... The majority of folks would use it as an RP device though and if their is an individual who uses it in the manner described above, he/she could of course be punished, so it is an interesting thought and like I said, I like the idea!

Im not a fan, for the reasons Chad and yourself wrote Steve, some people have a hard time self monitoring their RP and on occasion go into god moding, this would be a dangerous tool on here and outside of the Underdark, I think it would mostly just cause drama.

What if the Spell(s) only worked within the same Area as the Caster, like Shadow Jump?

I think the essence of it is that some people might feel violated or forcefully RPed, the distance is not irrelevant or the consequences of course, but I think it would still cause some issues.

I love the idea though and would like to see it in practise, but we cant all be as awesome as that Wizard in Sshamath :twisted:

If would be seen as a "violation," then it would fall under PvP Rules, which means a) setting Hostile, b) giving an RP interaction to support the Casting.

But I think it is also interesting to think of the PvE uses!!!

Considering the fact that chests can't be opened without losing stealth / invisibility to ensure you are forced to fight the guards/bosses to get the loot my guess is that this would fall under similar rules... Of course all bosses could be made immune, but then what's the point?

I don't think it should affect monsters. It can be used by wizards as a way of making money otoh.

There is still the issue of the Saves. You know what those Saves are?

If it was subject to the PvP rules then yeah I consent.
I dont want it to apply to PvE though, like Hoihe.

Wouldnt it require marked runes though?

Shouldn't require runes if teleporting on the same board, but I imagine it would to teleport to a different area, which would be tough with selecting target...do you target the ringer or the player?

I don't know what the saves are but I imagine they're pretty good.

How about something simple as "Teleport party members, except yourself."?

That way you invite someone to your party to teleport them. This one doesn't get a save as it is requested.


It could then also check for "Hostile players" in the area, if found, it teleports them with a save
