Going to try a new evil build.

Unread post by V'rass »

So I have been getting bored playing a good aligned character. My new white outfit however gives me a truly fiendish idea. Instead of playing my standard evil in your face, or I am evil so what... I will try playing an evil masquerading as good. There will be subtle hints that the character is not as he seems and in time people will learn but most who see him wont have any reason to even think him evil due to his outfit and mannerisms. It should provide some good amusement and rp.

I have done this by the way. Its great fun if you can pull it off. Won't describe my "methods" because they worked so well, but have been considering such a character again. Good luck!

Great idea. Now delete this post, wait a month or so and pray that you don't get meta-gamed ;)

All joking aside, that isn't wrong. Metagamers exist, and they will ruin your enjoyment of playing this type of character.

I have played a smart evil before but still looked evil in my dress. Now i look like a good. Also i am not worried about meta-gamers... anyone metagames me will be put on my shit list and will be griefed ooc and in ic, pvped everytime i see them, and trash-talked whenever and wherever possible. If they break the rules then as far as i am concerned they are open game to be tormented at my whim.

Dont worry being open about playing an evil character. The most amazing evil plots were made by those being open about it... There are some in the works even now. Cant say the same about those that try too much to hide it.

I had a lot of fun playing an openly evil necromancer for several months. Being openly evil pretty much makes it impossible to metagame a character since it's all out there anyway. If you do this, make sure you put on your pvp gloves and get ready for lots of abuse, though.

I am pretty sure that several years ago an enterprising evil toon masqueraded as a good one collecting donatios for a "good cause." I think he started an evil empire with the proceeds. Not sure though.

I thought that was the standard among people? Like, isn't that the most popular character type there is? :D

Evil masquerading as good .... so you'll be rolling a paladin then?

I agree.

I've been playing an openly evil DM for over a year now. *nod nod*

On a serious note, I have seen some classy evil characters on this server, they do exist. I think the one issue with evil, and to the same extent good characters, is they don't know when to accept a win or a loss and move on. Its not so much even the alignment, but more of "lets see how far I can take this". Its ok to take small steps at times. ;)

As for metagaming, if anyone believes they are being metagamed, feel free to PM us along with any proof and we will resolve the matter.

Luna posted stats and Evil was the most popular alignment spectrum among the players, yet from interaction, it was mostly good-y

New evil character concept? "Undercover" evil? Oh, you mean the type of evil character who runs around pretending to be good or neutral aligned, but never actually does anything evil? With the excuse being "I'll get metagamed", while their real concern is getting discovered IC? The type of character who outside of DM events of the closed type, where it's basically impossible to get discovered, is only evil on the character sheet? Yeah, never saw that one before. Have fun RPing your eventual antihero.
