drow cleric melee challenge
Trying to build a drow cleric that's uses melee. No level restrictions. FS and Rdd can be used. I know we have some genius out there.

RDD is not available on the server. Do you mean we could use FS instead of Cleric, because I can see little point in a Drow using both?Zinnestro wrote:FS and Rdd can be used.
For FS you could try FS23/BG4/DS3. Nothing in Cleric would match that unless you worship Talos...

Keep in mind that in BG FS22 dies not get a bonus feat. That is a K'pack addition.Thorsson wrote:For FS you could try FS23/BG4/DS3. Nothing in Cleric would match that unless you worship Talos...

You can do something very, very interesting with a STR-based Cle 23 (25)/FB 7 (5) type with the Strength Domain (endless Extended Divine Power slots).Thorsson wrote:Nothing in Cleric would match that unless you worship Talos...
Very strong character, that needs very little to deal a lot of dmg, and is inherently extremely solid even if you are a new player (inexperienced, no items...).
EDIT: spell check. Phone's OP...

Anyway, if there are none, and you can take advantage of the Caster Level bug: http://nwn2db.com/build/?192279

Re: drow cleric melee challenge
But plenty of FS builds can, especially those investing in Improved Knockdown, Knockdown or Expose Weakness. Most drow go for either FS 26/BG4 or suffer through to get FS23/BG4,Rogue 3. Even clerics could, provided they get some of those things.Thorsson wrote:

Re: drow cleric melee challenge
Expose Weakness? Why? You have little Dex so the debuff is minor and you don't need it to hit.
Oh and IMO FS23/DS3 is better than FS26. DS brings Tower Shield Proficiency, Tumble Skill, Aura of Courage, True Strike Spell and Dragon damage bonus for the cost of 1 CL and 1 Feat. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

You can stack the -3AC debuff up to a max of -15. It's a very good feat even with low dex.

If something is still alive by then. And if you had trouble hitting it so you needed the debuff.

Re: drow cleric melee challenge
It's more that it helps land every single attack, thereby doing more damage, thereby taking things down much quicker. This is essential in boss fights, making EW builds better in PvM. In PvP it's very good too, but characters don't have thousands of HP like bosses do. There, knockdown is far better, sometimes even feint, because knockdown prevents attacks back at you and gives an instant AB bonus, while feint is an instant AB bonus.Thorsson wrote:If something is still alive by then. The one who lands the most attacks during those few rounds a divine melee duel consists of, win. That's generally what Knockdown and Feint can do, and EW to a lesser extent.

Yes, EW is good for solo boss fights. In parties someone else will already have it.
