Rethink that after playing many days with populations of 10-15. Normally I keep my scry hidden but when it's so few people on (sub 30), I tend to let it show. Why? This game is about social interaction between characters. I'm not saying "about RP", because one can argue RPing can be (and is!) walking and doing stuff alone. However, that gets boring fast. And the server is bloody massive. I much rather cook up some random reason to go towards a certain direction than stand around FAI/BG farmlands/Elfsong Tavern hoping to meet a random soul that is: A) Not running quests B) AFK C) Isn't going to log in mins. This way, at least, based on the location a player is in I can assume they aren't doing any of those things.
For a long while, I was like "BUT THAT'S META-INFO!". Well... yeah, it is. But for almost an entire year I went without playing, just logging in, standing around FAI/BG/Elfsong and logging out after 10-15 minutes. This was especially so as my character is pretty much unable to solo level-appropriate content without great danger and difficulty (bloody rogues and getting Epic Dodge at 29). After I used the scry as a general hint (go southwards if people are in southern areas, go northwards if people in northern areas, check the FAI if there's people there, check the X Y guild area if there's a guild member on etc), I played much more in the last month than I did in the entire summer or maybe even the first half of 2015.
I can actually RP with people! I can actually meet other people than the few folks I usually RP with and generally spawn in the same locations to ensure meeting. It's amazing.

Well, my character can recognize breasts from a mile away. While you may be wearing a mask, I will recognize you due to their shape, volume and bounciness. This also goes for guys with moobs.

Would lovely if we could actually customize our character's faces and not rely on a bunch of premade models. Also would be lovely if you could see said faces from the angle your characters would. Oh, and with the same facial memories your characters. And ignoring the logistic troubles - rulebreakers. Only way to identify rule breakers is by their character name. I'm actually one to push for removing the ability to hide playernames given the opportunity just for this reason. Although it's easy to find a player name if you know how, it can take a while, especially when people keep logging in/out.

I always leave my location info available because it basically means "If you want to RP come find me".

I do it because because people think it's fun to kill chars that are 15-20 levels lower than they are, and have been trying to PvP my character to death for the last week. I don't hide on the other characters, but it's basically become a necessity on what is currently my main PC. You can just hide it when you log in.

I think it's better to be a bit more honest about metagaming—it is nigh impossible not to do it.
There is obviously a Scale of small slights to holy-crap-epic-fail-meta-knowledge affecting RP and the gaming experience, so yes, it is good to remind ourselves, at times, what we are doing, when getting behind a Character, and how we as Players control that Character (and control the OOC that cannot be left forgotten).
But when you, as a Player, are confronted by metagaming, you have 2 options available to you: talk to the other about it, directly, and try to work it out, or, document the metagaming as best you can, and present it to the DM Team, who, retain oversight on the Storylines/RP of this Server. And it should be in that order.
Oh...there is also just ignoring the meta-happening, because, this really is just a game and in the grand scheme of things, holds little importance. What IS important is how and/or why People do or do not do things/actions intentionally or not, to each other. There is far too much exclusivity on BGTSCC...but that is another story.
Simply put: the Server asks your to TRY and role-play when gaming on BGTSCC—stay in-character. So also: try not to metagame in your RP. That's the simple action. Try and make the effort so you don't ruin another Player's fun.

Gotcha.. I know it would look weird, but what about overhead names on pc chars changed to "female"/"male"..?

How are you going to identify someone to recognize them IC? Especially with dwarves and aasimar.
If there was some way to make it depend on having a mask on/off, I could see it working. Sort of like Space Station 13's ID method where if someone is wearing a mask and NOT wearing an I.D, you get "unknown", if they're wearing an I.D you get the I.D. If you see their face, you get their name. If they speak, you get their name. If they speak on intercomm with voice changer, you get the altered name.
For us, just name when unmasked and "Unknown" when masked can work. But again, great for griefing.
