I am considering rolling up a character that seeks out Drow to destroy once trained up. I would prefer two-handed weapons but as it is right now, I think, I have to go with 2 weapon style. Before I dive into something like that, does anyone know already if and how all this stuff stacks up? Any tips for the RP side of things? Thanks in advance!

Re: Drow-Slaying EDM Berserker
Several comments:
1. If you want to use two hangers just take archery style as your backup
2. What is barbarian doing for you? Just use frenzy and save yourself the xp penalty.
3.ranger gets third combat feat at 11, camouflage at 13, maxed halo of sand (+4 deflection AC, 10 min/level) at 16, and outdoor hips at 17. By removing barbarian and only taking 3 cleric levels you could end up R17/C3/FB10. This will make it a bit easier to hit, at least outside by using hips.
4. Overall you're probably going to do more damage top your FEs by taking ranger to 21 and getting bane of enemies, forgetting edm. This also allows you to dump charisma in favour of strength and dexterity. Make dex 16 and wear a Mithral BP, the rest in strength and go R21/C3/FB5 (last level= pick one of the three). This will give a better attack bonus, better AC and consistent damage vs FEs.
5. Most importantly unless you just want to hang in Durlags there aren't going to be many Drow to hunt, this line of rp eventually becomes fairly limiting, but if you want to try it out feel free to seek me out in game sometime.

Re: Drow-Slaying EDM Berserker
Ewww non-elven drow slayer! And an Aasimar at that!
I'd recommend making a proper elven drow slayer, follower of Shevarash. Ditch the EDM and dualwielding part and go for a wood elven cleric22/ranger3/fb5 of Shevarash. Favored enemy elves.
Then run around saying edgy and brooding shit, steal some quotes from books/movies/tv shows and turn them into ones fitting for Shevarash, like this:
Shevarash knows the sorrows in our souls. He walks at the side of each of his faithful, a vessel of hatred on the fires of vengeance. Shevarash knows the sorrows, and would now share them with us all.
And remember, don't laugh or show signs of joy. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO.
You'll probably get bored in a few months though. Not much to do as a follower of Shevarash.

Re: Drow-Slaying EDM Berserker
Thanks! I'm going to start working on these build suggestions. Its appreciated- I see the weaknesses but often I'm not sure what to tweak without getting frustrated so when I feel frustrated I just toss the build here and see what happens!
I'd love to use a two-handed style instead of two weapon style. I'd like to see how berserker supreme power attack stacks with ranger favored power attack.
Also... when one picks the Aasimar race is a human race base assumed? I was going to roll up an Aasimar but play as a half-elf Aasimar. Is that breaking the play your character sheet rule?
This character design definitely needs a lot of work. I may switch the favored enemy focus from Drow to Outsiders, too, considering the warning regarding a lack of RP opportunities. I always wanted to roll up a fiendslayer at some point, too.
I'll start making advised changes. I appreciate the constructive tone when I publish my mistakes, too.
Again, thanks!

Re: Drow-Slaying EDM Berserker
From Races of Faerun:
Aasimar are the descendants of humans and some good out-
sider, such as a true celestial, a celestial creature, couatl, lillend,
or even a servant or avatar of a good deity. (Some of these crea-
tures must use magic to assume a form that is compatible with
a human mate, of course.) While elves, dwarves, gnomes, and
halflings with good outsider ancestry are reputed to exist, those
crossbreeds are not true aasimar.

Re: Drow-Slaying EDM Berserker
Well that answers that, then. I may end up going with some kind of deep gnome for the unique rp and the spell resistance.

Keep in mind that BG has the 3b20 rule. You need to have 3 levels of every class you are going to use before level20. In your build you need 3levels of Weapon Master before level 20.R0ninknight wrote:Well that answers that, then. I have abandoned this concept since it doesn't seem to have a lot of opportunities to shine. Thanks for the advice!
