*After a time of merriment in the local taverns. Talking to local folk, and relearning local customs, Aidan would make his way stumbling back to the ships. His first stop, the Wanderess, he falls asleep sitting, leaned against the mast. His sleep is short, fitful, waking up feeling sour of stomach and restless he roams the ship. He makes general repairs, checks on the rigging, takes account of food stocks and repair supplies before leaving a note for his captain in her cabin*

"Cap'n

I've gone over the ship and find her sound of body. I can only hope that her crew is equally sound of mind. Have you any concerns that I may have overlooked please send for me, I will be asleep aboard the Dragonwing. I have visited waterdeep often enough, and had lived here a few months no less. There is little splendor in the lady for me, little surprises an old wench can offer a man well versed in her performance. I admit though it wasn't my original concern, I long to be home. More, I long for the trip ahead.

Aidan Thatcher ~ Boatswain of the Wanderess"

*After all is secure and cared for he nods his leave to the watch and checking the sack full of the local commodities he might miss while in Baldur's Gate. He makes the walk up the planks of the docking board and finds his gaze cast out at the waters of the port. Her laughter causes a catch of pain in his chest as he exhales. His mind reaching back into the past to the last time he heard her laugh, traveling harsh seas to where he last left her. The seas reminded him like a beckoning phantom of how he had abandoned her.* "home" *He'd mumble, realizing the illusion in the fact, the irony of it all. Home was a memory, no longer a place*

((Apologies Necrotic for not responding earlier, got home just now!))

Reading Aidan's note, she'd chuckle "I'll let you rest lad. Whatever concerns I have will be handled in the drydock back in the Gate."

She would linger on the City of Splendours comment, however, and disappear into the city, to leave a bag of a thousand coins anonymously in a rather particular tavern.

Finding Soora afterwards, she'd motion to the City. "The City of Splendours... the place where my life's second chapter has ended, and the third one began. The city where I went from pained man trying to hide from mistakes past to the Aegis of the Elves I am today, where I made my vow upon my Duty."

Leaning against the railings of the Wanderess she'd continue. "Although I have fulfilled my Duty on the fateful day of my becoming elven and freeing Amarathine from her slavery, I have renewed it. This time, not to the Lepaith, but to the Seldarine itself. Still, I couldn't help but leave a small donation at the home of an old friend I've wronged. Guess this explains why I am always broke."

She would chuckle, although linger looking at a tavern still. "It's the past now, though! Sehanine herself has shown me that chapter is over in no misunderstandable way."

As the final crate was loaded into the hull, Desrah turned to Marcus and Mary.
"Marcus, you've th' Wing till my return. Mary, let's go for a walk."
Placing the sort of face scarf on one would wear for warmth over her face, and with a slight tug
on her tricorn over her eyes, she lead Mary off into the city to seek out a proper
temple in which to say prayers and leave tithing.

*he would return Terri's sending* "All is well, the second leg of our travel will commence soon. Though I don't think Hoiha accounts for the fact that the wind wont blow so clearly in our sails both ways. The return we'll be hoping to catch even a quarter of the gust we had coming north"

*He'd shake his head afterwards and chuckles sardonically as he murmurs in his moments alone* "home's six feet under and cold as the day I left her in Amn" *kicking his conscience for still holding on to the guilt, he heads below deck to get a good deal of sleep so that he's ready for the southward journey. muttering the words to a poem he wrote a few years back*

Erie shadows roam the night and come calmly calling to my door. On winds they whisper their unearthly plight, humbly begging for entry or perhaps... something else... perhaps ...something more.

I sit stone silent and hear the fingers scratch at glass and wood upon every visit of the breeze. There pretending the hours away as candlelight dances and jumps from page to page while I read.

The candle frequent gutters low with my unmarred distain. A bit of chill seeps in, Finding vacant track through crevise and crack. They come to torment a restless mind, these ghosts of my regret.

*Aidan wakes a good time later to the sound of other men stumbling aboard singing bawdy tavern songs. He'd think on his prior message to Terri. He blinked his thoughts away. Sure he had been wrong about the return home and the winds, but what good would it do to remind her that he would be back sooner. They'd hardly had time to speak of late short of when she'd send to him. He pushes himself up, making his return to the aft deck and the helm. He'd wait there for Desrah to return. In the meantime he'd look over list of stocks and crew, the quartermaster, the acquisitions officer never really leaving the man.*

Angel continues to provide meals for the crew around the clock. No one seems to notice she doesn't sleep or eat herself. But, the meals are hot, full of flavor, and plentiful. Angel continues to praise the Captain to all for expending the funds to make the food and drink so good. She accepts little praise in its making, although she clearly has a talent for food and flavor.

Her favorites are her rum cakes, whom she learned about from her lost friend Bella. She tries not to think about it, but on the rare occasion she gets topside she can't help but think how Bella would have loved it.

When not busy with food preparation, she wonders the decks giving the crew water and help wherever needed. She continues to step up with swabby duties as well. This little hin seems to have no loss of energy or stamina (Con=28).

It would be night before the Captain returned. Having left at dusk.
She would nod to Aidan, who she found on the deck, looking out dockside.
Give pause when she found Michael, still hard at work as he checked and
double checked the rigging.. With a content smile she turned to head
to her cabin to prepare for the return voyage. Those on the crew might
find her demeanor more at ease. Her voice a touch more relaxed. And her
spirit uplifted and far more positive than it had been on the trip North.
Should any upon the vessel ask her of the reason behind the change,
she would explain it to them. . . privately.

Marcus can be seen overseeing the loading of the supplies while the rest of the crew takes rotaions on shore leave, with enough crew staying behind to make sure the cargo is check and stored as quickly as possible so they will be ready to sail with the next tide after loading is done.

Lack of sleep can clearly be seen on his face, but he refuses to rest, making sure the cargo gets loaded properly.

"Come on lads, put your backs into it.....these supplies are dearly needed. I'll personally pay each one of you a bonus outta mi own pocket when we are done. Plus buy the first round once we are back in the Gate."

Putting down the papers, Marcus puts himself to work, right beside the rest of the crew, working as hard if not harder than anyone there.

"You all can rest when your shifts are over, cause the people we are helping with these supplies are dying as we speak....."

Taking bites of food between here and there Marcus makes a note to talk to the Captain about upgrading the Kitchen...thinking that if Angel can do this with what is there, the meals will be fantastic with new equipment.

Desrah stepped out onto the deck, candle in one hand, the other cupping it against the wind.
Setting it on the rail she looked up to the night skies above.. Lost in her thoughts, she
replayed her conversation with Michael over and again in her mind.

At the crack of dawn on the fourth day of the siege of Baldur's Gate, the ships Dragonwing, captained by Desrah, and Whistling Wanderess, captained by Hoiha, make their way into the emptied and chaotic Docks District harbor, rumored to be returning from Waterdeep on an urgent supply mission financed by the Church of Ilmater, syndicated by the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange, and additionally organized at the request of the War Council by the Hoarite Koryeneer and the Everwatch member Reine. It is rumored that a day or two behind that a slower Waterdeep ship troop convoy escorted by 8 Waterdeep City Navy Raker warships manned by 400 Waterdeep City Navy sailors (300) and marines (100), along with 300 more Waterdeep City Guard is also on its way on orders from the Lords' Alliance High Command and at the request of the War Council and Grand Dukes. The Whistling Wanderess and Dragonwing, unloading about equal sized cargoes, are said to be met by Flaming Fist logistical experts that rapidly unload significant stocks of smaller item supplies from the vessels, valued at hundreds of thousands of gold pieces, and that are quickly taken to the battlefront and are rumored to have an immediate effect on troop morale effectiveness in battle:

* potions and healer’s kits for easily 1 000+ soldiers said to be requested by the Church of Ilmater
* a multitude of healing wands to assist Flaming Fist healers directly and said to be requested by the Church of Ilmater

Other items said to be in the Dragonwing and Whistling Wnaderess cargo are left to go on to Elturel or to remain in Baldur's Gate for war refuges there if the War Council should so decide:

* healing supplies for the refugees of Scornubel currently in Elturel, including disease potions, poison remedy, and other ailments
* new tents and fresh clothing for the refugees of Scornubel currently in Elturel

It is said that Duke Eltan himself personally writes a letter to the War Council thanking the convoy members for the aid to the troops fighting the undead.

Another hand seemed to be among the numbers of the Dragonwing should any obsess over such fine details, a tiefling wearing mostly simple clothes as he moves up and down the deck with mop in hand. It wouldn't appear out of place in the least as he brushed hard at some mess or another, taking instructions from the more senior members.

The occasional crew member would probably closely scrutinize his work, pointing out this or that mess he might have missed or was deemed "not clean enough" which would illict a quiet roll of his eyes, but he nods with no backtalk and continues to scrub once more at the stubborn stains, jaw clenched and brow furrowed as he takes the occasional tip from a fellow swabbie as he works on his designated area of the top deck should he have been assigned such, otherwise starting to seek out messes as he spots them or as instructed.

The Tiefling does manage to work rather tirelessly however, more often than not sparong inquisitive glances to the many various members needed to keep the ship afloat and sailing smoothly. As most likely the newest member on the ship, he would probably take the expected jests and little initiation rituals in good spirits, though seemingly preferring to work quietly at his post than not. Even so, when he does manage to catch a break between his shifts, during those break times, he regards the others with a warm little smile and dip of his head, trading polite conversation here and there. It might be noticed that his attention often enough goes to the the people above him, climbing quickly along the rigging as they tend to their responsibilities.

Angel come by the tired teifling and offers water and a biscuit. "More hot food below when you get done here sir," she offers without emotion.

The Tiefling accepts the offered food and water with a little dip of his head, tucking it away. Should anyone be keeping track, unless directly invited, he doesn't go below deck for food or drink or rest, and despite the long tireless hours and days of scrubbing the deck, he appears rather collected. As the ship occasionally lurches, he paused his work to survey the waters of the ocean and sky, before watching the many other crew members going about their duties.

He may be noticed to keep an eye upon those that work the rigging, watching how they work as they scramble about. He considers everyone as they move with direction and purpose in their duties to keep the ship sailing smoothly. The tiefling tries to remember to flash an approiate smile or dip of his head when he notices someone looking his way. Otherwise, with a thoughtful, comtemplative expression upon his visage, he swabs and swabs and swabs the deck. All the grime and phelmn and mess on the deck doesn't stand a chance against the mop in his hands, whatever his assigned area is. What he lacks in knowledge and real technique he accomplishes with nonstop determination, focused on cleaning his assigned area to once again watch the crew.
