It won't show you the long visual effect, or the item properties. That's correct.
You will still get the damage bonus. And there's a brief recurring visual effect (a gleam).

This sounds like it works correctly.

I haven't looked into the Flame Weapon report yet.

Bless weapon on evil race it is what it say but it not Work on the orc and orc is EVIL there sould come blue light with you hit evil or undead it not show anyway is not working and yes it have allways show the what visual effect, on the item properties and how long sould it "Work" one min?

On my Paladin which is of Course LG, The Bless Weapon from a wand did nothing, and When I tried Holy sword from a wand I got a message that said the spell fizzled due to alignment, and did nothing.

Flame Weapon now works on your bare hands while unarmed!

Doesn't show up at all when wielding a ranged weapon, and disappears after a second if you switch to a ranged weapon.

I recently got an animal companion with my spirit shaman. I can confirm that Flame Weapon did not become active on the pet. (Using a wolf)

The buff seems to flicker at times, where it disappears for a second, then resumes. Observed while unarmed.

Gonna go buy a melee weapon to check with that.

Alright, I got two daggers.

Both immediately burst into flames when I equipped them, the buff transferring to both of them from an earlier casting on my character. The buff is also flickering on them (disappearing and reappearing on occasion, seems at regular intervals).

From an unbuffed state, my first casting did nothing. Neither of my daggers got the Flame Weapon buff. I tried again, and they both got the Flame Weapon buff. Unequipping them has my unarmed attack keep the weapon buff.

The buff doesn't persist when you equip a ranged weapon and get the buff removed, then switch back to a correct weapon.

@Lockonow. Its not supposed to work on evil races (or orcs).

You empower the touched melee weapon with a +1 piercing damage bonus vs. evil, and a 2d6 magic damage bonus vs. undead.

I just tried flame weapon with my spirit shaman on a very handsome elven monk and it did nothing.

Druid 30 reporting in.

Flame weapon test:

- Worked for 1.5 minute when I extended it. (Should be 60 minutes)
- Still doesn't work on my companion

If there is any good change to it, it's that it's not lost when I shapechange between forms. Really great thing, I wonder if the same thing could be done with another weapon buff - Storm's Avatar.


EDIT:

The duration was different in the second test. Longer than 1.5 minutes but still ended prematurely.

EDIT 2:

The next casts of flame weapon lasted far longer, probably with correct duration. Can't replicate what bugged the first two casts.

for me in Dm Golems event i had Holy Sword and Bless weapon and Deafing clang running and they stuck as long as i didn't transition, also anything that could dispell was disspelling them like devour magic or dispel regular
