Don't like EDM myself, precisely because you have to minmax to get it, but I don't think the solution is to make EDM easier to get. Even a cutdown version of EDM; if anything I'd go the other way...

EDM requires you to build your character around the feat and the required attributes. There isn't much minmaxing involved though, unless you build it on a race which has a penalty to one of the two attributes, or on a human cleric with level 9 spells. And that's how it should be with strong epic feats. Unlike Expose Weakness which is taken by every melee build because all it requires is a 3 level dip.

Okay; by no means a final draft but some thoughts are here. Again: Not necessarily cheaper in terms of sacrifice but sacrifices other than min-maxing is the goal. I also took a look at a few suggestions that seem too weak, too strong, or too cliché based on the statements in this thread (Like Expose Weakness and making less chosen epic feats more desirable). I'm curious to see how people tinker with these. A lot of them use in-theme 'burn feats' as a replacement cost. Modify away! Make more suggestions for other feats! Have fun! :)

Epic Divine Might:
Requires: 21st level, Strength 18, Charisma 18,
Power Attack, Divine Might, Divine Shield, Divine Cleansing, Improved Turning, Epic Prowess, [Iron Will?]
Effect: In exchange for spending 2 uses of Turn Undead intead of 1, you gain twice your Charisma bonus to weapon damage for a number of rounds equal to twice your Charisma bonus. You may still activate normal Divine Might for a cost of only
1 Turn Undead use.

Armed Deflection:
Requires: 21st level, Dex 19, Int 13, Wis 13, Combat Expertise, Lightning Reflexes

Expose Weakness:
Requires: 21st level, Evasion, Improved Critical, Epic Prowess, Armed Deflection

Automatic Still Spell:
Requires: 21st level, Skill Focus (Spellcraft), Spell Focus (any)

Fast Healing 1:
Requires: 21st level, Con 18, Epic Resilience, Toughness, Epic Toughness

Effect: You gain Fast Healing 1.

Fast Healing 2:
Requires: Con 23, Fast Healing 1, Great Fortitude
Effect: You gain Fast Healing 6

It's up to the player to RP those minned stats. Many players sadly do not. My 6 con palemaster died from a virus after spending a month hacking up blood. My 6 wis fighter killed dozens of villagers in beregost because he was told to. My 6 cha dwarf will compliment your dress, call you a harlot, and tell you to stop sleeping with orcs as casual conversation while staring at the high cha knife ear.

Meanwhile the only elf I have ever seen RPed with less than average iq represents 2 elf subraces I guess.

I'm sincerely glad to read that you have the integrity as a player to do that, Summer! I take RPing stats pretty seriously, both the good and the bad, as well. Its nice to know that others do, too. 8-)
