What the topic says... The current in game sound is a delicate piiinngg which doesn't sound anything like thunder, much less something that would deafen the target.

I would imagion it would be more like a sonic boom. Its not the sound that kills you its the shock-wave it creates that shatters your bones and ruptures your organs. This suggestion gets my vote.
