Re: DM Bloodlust typing a few words together
Thank you Bloodlust for the many awesome events you ran, stepping up to take the reigns and lead and guide a community while bearing all the responsibility is something i'm far too familiar with, especially so when it comes to unpaid hundreds of hours spent in a gaming community.
You did the community proud, if you feel its time, then take a bow. well done, come back to being a full time player like the rest of us and enjoy the hugs and pats on the back, im sure whatever character you play people would buy it an ale in the friendly arm inn to celebrate all you accomplished.

I play Medune I think? maybe? probably? I'm not really certain.
Also Rafio priest of Silverbeard
And Jenny Jango in a party near you, and your buying the ale! *wink*

What!? No more duergars or illithlids to exterminate? No more sudden ambushes of explosive goblins? Lilly starts sobbing That's not fair...
This is a great loss, we will miss you Bloodlust. I had the great pleasure of participate in events guided by your wise -and patient- hand and they will be remembered for a long, long, long time.
I really hope you find the personal balance you are seeking as a player. But just remember that you won't be able to kill things that fast!
Thank you for the fun!

Sad to see you go bloodlust, from what I have personally seen and from what I have heard from many others, you've been one of the best dm's to come through this place.
Here's to hoping you find yourself recharged in a few months and return to torment us all again soon

I will always remember you Bloodlust.
The first event I took part in the server was made by you. It was very exciting as a new player to take part of a small 4-6 player adventure with you throwing stuff at us
Now that I know you are Karond, I can add that you also helped me shape my character when I began playing here.
You were also quick to reply on my request for a namechange on forum (took 5 minutes after I posted) and logged on in-game and took care of it. That's what I like about you, when it's logical and you see that there's an issue, you fix it right away.
I will miss you !

I enjoyed your events campaign immensely, along with the interwoven plots of a few other making appearances within them. You were swift with player help too, the most visible DM I saw in the brief time I was on the server.
You will be missed as a DM, but a pleasure to make your acquaintance as a player.

Re: DM Bloodlust typing a few words together
I don't know what to say to express my gratitude for what you have done for this server and for me. But I am going to give it a shot. I have played a lot of NWN 1 and NWN 2 my steam account currently says 2551 hours. That is 106 days 7 hours, Only taking in to account the time I played NWN 2 on steam. Not the day's when I had a hard copy of the game or all the days I spent playing NWN 1. The real number of days I have spent RP-ing on various servers is probably close to a year straight. In all that time, I have never played on a server with the level of DM involvement that BG has. About 14 months ago I decided to return to NWN2 and to return to BG. Quickly I was sucked back in to the world I had left behind. The level of player RP was even better then I remembered and so was the level of DM involvement. Still though I felt as I always had, A fly on the wall watching the world go by. Not a important part of a story that I could influence and change. That was until my first event with DM_Bloodlust. You actually took an interest in my character. You gave her a chance to leave her mark on the world. She was not a member of an important focal guild or a veteran character that everyone looked up to for answers. Just a random PC that you gave the tools to forge her own story. No one had ever cared to do that for me before. I never felt like I was on a railroad I felt like I was in the drivers seat. The realization that I could change the world of BG for better or worse was intoxicating and it did lead to my current level of involvement on the forums. You never made it easy, Which I love. Most of the influence my character showed was due to blunders and in the end she died with out achieving her goals. But that never mattered. They were my blunders, my goals and my failure. It is an experience I will never forget and for that I thank you. For the countless stupid PM I have sent, With random silly question that you always had the time to answer, I thank you! For the creation of all the great NPC's I had come to hate so much they kept me up at night, I thank you! For all the time you spent on the 1351 plot line, Including the ironman back to back events you ran at the end, I thank you. I guess what I am trying to say is...
Thank you! DM_Bloodlust

Re: DM Bloodlust typing a few words together
So this is why you did no events with Kraak Helzak. . . well I guess the 6 years you speant providing IC RP of the highest caliber will have to do instead. Remember you are always welcome to play your bearded characters with us and I assure you other DMs did fill in.
I must say though that in a few months if you dm again at all I highly recommend perhaps a non event oriented approach at first. Sometimes a random citizen in the docks district telling a character a rumor about say. . . maltz secretly wanting to be a wizard can be more immersive than a storyline. We don't always need xp, gold, gear, mystery, something to kill, or even a direction. Sometimes making the npcs simply surprise us by replying is enough to spark imagination.

Hello DM Bloodlust,
thanky you for all the fun we had together. I always enjoyed being a part in your events. As you already mentioned above you used the DM Tool very well. In the end I thought you must be a professional DM
I hope to see you back as a player very soon.
Kind regards
Touri

Re: DM Bloodlust typing a few words together
Bloodlust, i've only been in one of your events since i got back into the game and i can without a bit of regret say that you are, in my opinion, the best dm that has ever been on this server. I got this from one event, the siege on the east wall, and the docks.
Reading your post took me some time ^^ but it was a good read, and like in the post i could see that you put your soul into making and running the events.
I would love to have you back as a dm one day, but if you decide to leave the dm stool for good thats cool too, you've already done plenty in my eyes!
