Can anyone read Chinese?
If so, can you tell me what kind of tea this is?

No, it is Hei Cha, chinese call it dark or black tea. Not the same as black tea in the US.Lockonnow wrote:White tea

Yep it says pu'er tea, but I can't quite make out the brand (never really enjoyed trying to decipher Chinese calligraphy!)
The authentic stuff ought to have a 4 digit recipe number on it, indicating the year of production, tea grade, and factory of production. Eg. 9236 means 1992, 3rd Grade from Kunming Tea company. I suspect the loose leaf tea may not be so stringent with this, though.
