Countering Critical hits

Often enough when my character is unlucky enough to go up against like 4 creatures at once they tend to land a bunch of 20's on me pretty often. What ways are there to counter critical hits just for pvm and pvp purposes?

Stonebody and Ironbody scrolls. Or potions of the kind, but I haven't seen any of those around. That's the only way besides being of specific classes.

Short of crit immunity feats/spells (like Pale Master level 10, or Stonebody/Ironbody), the main defense against crits is just doing what you can to limit their effectiveness. Having higher AC makes it harder for the crit to get confirmed--rolls of 20 will still hit you, but it will just be for normal damage if they can't get a hit on the confirmation roll. And higher HP allows you to survive the crits you do get better, giving you time to react and recover. Then concealment and mirror images help in reducing the amount of rolls that actually get through, and damage reduction shaves off some of the damage that does.

That's true. Having AC that is 20+ higher than their highest AB makes it impossible to score a critical hit on you as long as you're not flatfooted or such. Concealment or mirror image wands and items are good advice too

Displacement cloaks are amazing. You can pick one up for about 20k. Switch them into your cloak slot and fire a displacement if you find yourself ambushed by several spawns at once. Automatic 50% miss chance. You cut their hits in half. I use this often.
