How good a source are the Dragon magazines?

I am wondering how much of this issue of the dragon magazine can be used as a direct source and quoted IC as actions, background or lore. The edition the magazine is based on is AD&D/2E, which IIRC is the standard for the server

Of particular interest:
Half-elven variability (Very human looking to very elven looking)
Half-elven longevity (averaging at 250 years)
The quip on Human to half-elf transformation (Yes, it has been spoken about!)
Corellon being male, female, both or neither
Labelas Ilestre being male, female, both or neither
Not this edition but the concept of "Thiramin" or elven "Soul mate"
Elven views on gender (or could say the lack ?)
