Looking for champion of bane build.

Was thinking about it and I would like to try a powerful, good all around build that's devoted to the service of bane. Preferably an evil warrior of a sort that can hold his own. Anyone have any good suggestions?

What are you looking to be? You could go EDM with F12/BG4/WoD10/R4 for a more melee focused build with UMD, Tumble etc... if you want full power (and avoid unpleasant dispel issues with the fix) you could go FS26/BG4 for full caster level and EDM.

Edit: With the new Heirophant class you could make a caster cleric 20/H10 worth max wisdom and decent charisma...with evil domain you can turn outsiders. Again, depends if you want more melee focus or not, but a Heirophant caster/turning focus cleric is pretty sweet!

Anything melee-based really. I have been looking into favored soul and some of it's class features I must say seem really op. Maybe favored soul/blackguard/rogue?

You can do that... A large portion of the server runs builds with FS, rogue and either blackguard, paladin or cleric. However, with the dispel fix if you have less than 30 caster levels you can be dispelled so taking more than 4 non-caster progression levels won't be nearly as good as it is currently. Better to just go FS/BG without the rogue dip. You'll be powerful enough even without max tumble, umd and expose weakness and when you're a favored soul, while you have plenty of spells to rebuff getting dispelled at the wrong time will be disaster (hello fugue).

CL will be 27. The dispel fix going in the upcoming release will make it so in epic areas you will have to rebuff fairly often and when an an epic boss or another player (if you pvp) hits you with a mords you will be in trouble.

Ok I'm just trying to understand this: the cleric level even though it's a divine class will not add to my caster level?

Correct, clerics pay for their spells while favored souls don't. It would be like having a wizard/sorcerer.

A proper champion of bane focuses on fear and tyranny, as is his portfolio. There is a prc called Dreadmaster in lore. It focuses on fear effects and cohorts. They also pump Sense Motive and have a class ability for it (Insidious Insight), because they are always looking for traitors. Class requirements are Leadership feat, Skill Focus (Intimidate), and Spell Focus (Enchantment).

I would personally recommend building a fit designed around that. Arcane caster might be better than cleric/FS, for the greater quantity of fear and enchantment spells. Bump Necromancy and Enchantment DCs for Fear and Dominate effects. A gish would be best, to keep the cleric-style play, but it might be hard to push the DCs high enough in that kind of build.

On the fear aspect, 12 Fighter, 10 ghostfaced-killer, 5 berzerker, 3 blackguard with EDM has something in it. Might be worth a look, it's a high damage build best for PvM.
