Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Rumor reached Boris quickly by way of the Thayan Knights guarding the Enclave entryway that a wild woman dressed in wolf-skins had been seen in the garden one recent morning and it was suspected she had spent the night. The description they offered concerned Boris. He suggested the Khazark not be bothered with such trivial matters of vagrancy, and assured the Knights that, as often as he resided at the Enclave, he himself would assume that lowly duty of ensuring the garden were clear of such undesirable elements - be they barbarian or beggar.
When the discovered tokens were presented to support the testimony of the Knights Boris promptly volunteered their disposal. He collected the cloth, berries and roots together, but what he did with them afterward remains without witness.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Two slender figures, a male and a female by all accounts, might be seen lingering near the bow of one of the ships on the docks late one evening. The pair banter back and forth quietly for a while, after the latter had nearly pushed the former into the harbors waters that is, as they peer out over the bay to watch the departing ships.
After some time, one of the figures would vanish, only to re-appear several moments later, and after the other had also vanished. It is then that any nearby onlookers, particularly the human and half-orc Captains, would see the other figure appear, and then a small explosion of fire would erupt at the feet of the male figure. A not so small torrent of liquid flame would ignite upwards around the male, scorching him badly and setting a portion of his cloak and clothing aflame. Another brief, and quite terse, verbal exchange might be seen to occur between the slender pair of folk before the male, seemingly burned quite badly and clutching his face, would shove his way past the other and slip away to disappear yet again.
No less than a candlemark or three later, one of the doors to one of the temples in the East Gate would swing silently open...

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Rumours appear why the key representatives of the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange were not present at the Winter Festival last tenday. Apparently, they travelled to Amn to negotiate purchase of construction materials. Some rumours mention quality timber, some lime putty for mortar, some mention both. The supposedly better informed people whisper that the Commercial Exchange managed to strike a deal with none other than Lord Rhor Bladesmile.
Word in the street is that the timber and mortar are purchased for construction of the Phoenix Company lodge. However, the prospect of Baldurians cooperating with premiere supplier of building materials brings hope to those already thinking about reconstruction of the city.
However, another rumour has it that the number of guards of the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange greatly decreased during the war with the undead. The organisation is reportedly looking for warriors to escort the caravan along the Coast Way. The notorious road to Amn is now especially dangerous as bandits take advantage of reduced patrols. Another gossip also mentions the Commercial Exchange could use more merchants to assist in finalising the great negotiations with the Bladesmiles House.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
It is said that, covered by the confusion in the East Gate due to the festival in progress, several individuals in well-known establishments located in what's left of the Palace District were...unburdened...of a share of their valuables.
Someone spoke of Mudd and those around his shop, others mentioned the Helm and Cloak, some say both, others neither.
The specifics and value of the stolen items remains unclear.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
At least once a week, a man of hulking figure and brutish appearance enters the gate with many pelts over his wide, imposing shoulders. The pelts were mostly of the residing wolves, north of the Gate city itself, to which many farmers hailed thanks to the woodsman. He does not linger long within the walls, only for a few hours to trade his collection for coin and rations.
Oddly enough, he does not carry any weapons on him, to which some traders would inquire with much mirth as to how the Northsman ended these creatures.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A man dressed in thick-weaved clothing, blue-green of color like fresh morning seas, could be seen walking through Baldur's Gate over the last tenday...at least, since the Mid-Winters Festival. Some may have even recognized him from that event, where he openly sat and ate an entire cheese sandwich (and it stayed down).
Through his near daily walks, from district to district, it may appear to some he is simply educating himself on the layout of the city: its markets, the Inns, the taverns, the regulars that occupy space, day in, day out.
To others, it may appear that he is actively searching, for something in particular, that is or would be assumed, should his observed observations of facades, public areas...and especially those nearest sources of water, besides the harbor bay, in general.
His rounds, the paths, over the days, they are traced by foot twice, and some thrice. And as he walks through the city without hood or perceived mask, some may even start to recognize his face.
Few stop him in his wanderings, though his wanderings themselves, have not stopped.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A stocky human in a hair-shirt has been rumored to be sheltering in the ruined barns of the Eastern Farmlands. Besides what he is clothed in, this tonsured man's only other possession of note is a warmace that he arrived with.
Local children have harassed the squatter incessantly since he appeared. They call him "Word-Head", presumably on account of the tattoo "REPENT" upon his forehead, and have recently taken to throwing stones and bottles at him while he preaches, prays and sleeps, for which they are rebuked by the man sharply as "bastards of Beshaba!".
There are rumors the squatter had a disagreement with the local mage Angus. When solicited by Angus to recover body parts on the wizard's behalf, the sojourner condemned this request as "most foul" and insisted those vanquished undead should be done the honor of Triadic burial rites and cremated. This has not prevented Angus in the slightest from his collection by the hands of other more willing adventurers.
During the day this zealot is heard preaching bluntly the doctrine of Ilmater, Torm and Tyr along the muddy roads. Few pay the uncharismatic preacher heed, though his doctrine seems sound.
Some nights, he may be seen entering the local graveyard armed with a warmace and loaded with faggots of sticks. He smites the undead, gathers their bodies and cremates them.

From a walk in the eve, Pathfinders hall to the district with the Fist, a lithe female ranger, with a light step, black hood with cloak and wild clothing was seen entering the Fist headquarters. It may have been a candlemark or few before she exited and left. It would not have been the first, she could have been seen entering the Fist Headquarters over a moons' time.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
The previous evening, a tiny woman in bright white robes could be seen eagerly leading a taller woman dressed in finery down the city street at a brisk pace, a parasol gripped firmly in the hand of the latter. They moved in the direction of the east gate proper, having arrived from the harbor. Both of the women wore fabulous earrings, some legends indeed claiming them to be the finest available in all of Toril.
Eventually reaching the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange, the smaller woman would appear extremely amused about something, and the taller one would have a bit of an embarrassed expression, briefly, as if she had been at the receiving end of a practical joke. The two of them would disappear inside the bank, not emerging again for several hours.
What happened inside was a closed book, even to those from their own villages.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A new face to the Gate city can be seen lingering around the memorial fountain. Clad in a dull-lustered suit of piece-mail, an aged fighter with silver-grey hair stands by the monument. He seems to be waiting for someone as his pale blue eyes scan the open air of the city, searching.
Rumour has it he seeks one of the Ilmateri.

A half elven dockworker was taken to a local temple. He arrived badly beaten and unable to speak due to a broken jaw. Some hours later Macgar Blackbrew could be seen cheerfully walking around the east gate district in high spirits.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
All around Baldur's Gate people would notice bulletins pinned to the walls and boards.
"People of Baldur's Gate
we ask for your help. The Elder Circle will perform a ritual to clean the farmlands around the town from the remains of the undead plaque. Any cleric, ranger, paladin or druid can be of great help to remove disease from the soil with divine or natural energy. Everyone else and especially the farmers are welcome to help with the work that has to been done to clean the land. That will be removing parts of tainted soil, burnig down tainted wood and prepare the cleaned soil for the sowing.
We will meet at the end of this Tenday.
Nature guides you
Vendor Xon, High Ranger of the Elder Circle"

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Word in the Gate is that a man named Drake Nair is looking for someone speaking Damaran / Chardic. Should someone possess the ability to read and understand the language, the recommendation would be to leave a message for Drake Nair at the Elfsong Tavern. A reward for the services is mentioned as well.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Bystanders would notice several supply crates being delivered by Maltz and his associates. The goods were ordered and bought by Dorne the Lion Blade, being delivered and unloaded into the Pathfinder Hall. From the looks of it, there seem to be several crates and close to a dozen training dummies.
Dorne can be observed directing that the dummies be brought to the basement while the crates be stored in the office. When directing the crates be put in the office, one with exceptional ears would overhear Dorne saying something to the effect of: "They are not ready for these yet."

A female elf with silver white cloak and hood spent time speaking to Radiant Heart Devon Brightscale, in front of the Ilmatar Temple. She was quite insistant with questions.
