Some preparations are being made as Simon the Lion will move on to a new home soon.

Telia can before the time comes, be seen showering Simon with extra love and attention, brushing his fur and mane to make sure he looks his very best.

With the arrival of some of the children, Aaron has been present more often in the Pathfinder Hall.

On the first day the children arrive the young knight would enter the Hall and quietly wait with Simon the lion, stroking his mane, as the children get their tour of the building and explanations of rules, schedule and duties.

As the children are given their first meal in their new home, the tall and powerful Knight would gently approach each child with a smile and greeting in a way as to not overwhelm or frighten them.

He would let each know that he would be a regular fixture in the Hall as they went about their day. He would explain to each that he would be helping to watch over them as well as teach them some very exciting things during their stay in the Pathfinder Hall. As he would move on to the each child he would finish that if they had any concerns or questions that they were welcome to approach him if they wished.

Mentor, Protector -- Second Lesson

Several days after their first lessons, Dorne appears at the Orphanage shortly before mid-morning. He greets the Sisters and guardsmen from the Radiant Heart, then goes to Sister Juna and inquires if there is anything she needs or he can do to help.

Instead of Juna, Dorne meets Anne amidst a group of children. The young woman greets Dorne with a relieved smile. "Just in time! Please take these additional three rascals with you." She points to a small group - two boys and a girl - by the window, that seem to be trying to wrestle one another to the ground. "After hearing the offer from Greyfox they want to be worthy of going and can't stop talking about swords and fights." She tries to settle down a crying toddler.

"Splendid, I am sure they will be as eager to learn as the others."He then begins gathering the Lion Cubs and tells them to 'Form up' before they exit the Orphanage and make the short journey to the Pathfinders Hall.

Lion Cubs with ridiculously, for a bunch of children, serious faces move in proper formation after the Father Lion.

As they arrive, he ushers them to the basement and into the training room. While on the way down, he again, makes a comment to the cook to prepare a snack for when the children are finished. Once Dorne and all of the children are inside the room. He utters the command, "Lion Cubs, Stand at attention.... Now, the lesson today will be on footwork. The key aim of any combat stance is to be secure and strong. That's true for both Paladins and Pirates. You don't want an enemy to be able to throw you off balance. Now, is everyone right-handed?

Seven heads barely growing their lion manes nod in response.

"Good, good. To get into a proper stance, you start with your feet slightly more than shoulder-width apart. You take a good sized step forward with your left foot. You want at least one 'foot length' between the back of your left foot and the heel of your right foot. Also, you want at least a foot length between your two feet. You want to balance your weight so it's evenly spread between both feet." As Dorne instructs, he makes the same movements to demonstrate properly for the Cubs. As each child slowly makes the right movements, he continues instructing, "You want to stay on the balls of your feet for better balance and mobility. Your back foot is used to help anchor you, and your chest is upright. This gives you the ability to rebalance yourself no matter which way your enemy comes at you and pushes you, and also presents a smaller area of attack to your enemy." He smiles warmly to the Lion Cubs as they each slowly make the proper movements. "You all look like seasoned warriors! Now, let us try something a little more difficult: the proper footwork for an advance and retreat."

The seven cubs have their attention fixated on Dorne.

Dorne moves towards the center of the room for his demonstration. As he gets to the appointed spot, he begins instructing again, "The basic advance and retreat are there to keep you as balanced as possible and as protected as possible. You start in the combat stance. To advance, you start by moving your -back- foot forward slightly, in a straight line forward, as if you are gliding. You do not want the toes of your back foot to cross the line made by your front foot's heel. That is, you do not want to lose any stability by getting yourself into an off-balance position. You stay on your toes as you do this. Once the back foot is re-planted, you kick your front foot forward to resettle into a new standard stance." Again, he demonstrates for the Cubs as he speaks to help ensure they understand exactly what he is doing. He patiently waits for each child to mimic his movements.

It seems that his exercise confused the little warrior cubs, most of them seem to not be able to repeat the sequence. Some trip or bump into another. Few angry comments fly around and before anyone can blink the only girl in the group headbutts Dannic.

Dorne immediately does his best to defuse the situation. He walks over to the girl and Dannic and separates them before speaking loud enough for all the children to hear. "Enough! We will -not- fight one another. A warrior who allows his emotions to control his actions is weak. These lessons will be difficult but we must work together and encourage one another. Do you think I learned how to bring down a giant in one day? Of course not, it takes -practice-." He then goes over to each child individually and guides them through the motions until they have it down. He spends extra time with the three newest Cubs. He makes a point to remind each child that as long as they try their hardest, they will succeed. He also emphasizes that, as difficult as it may be, they must remove any emotion from their mind and focus.

The troublesome trio proves to be quite a handful. There is a lot of tension and aggression in their every move and remark. It's apparent at this point that these three will need much more time to understand the concept of discipline.

Afterward, he continues the instruction, "In retreat, you start by moving your -front- foot back slightly, in a straight line back, again as if you were gliding down in a straight line. Again, you do not want the front foot to come back so far that it nears the plane of the back foot. Once the front foot is re-planted, the back foot moves back to regain your normal stance. For both advance and retreat the chest must stay upright. No leaning or swaying which leads to off balance. The head should seem to move in a straight even line, to keep your sight firmly focused on your opponent." For the final time, he stands patiently and awaits every child to successfully mimic the movements.[/i]

Again some confusion shows in the way the kids react to the instructions. It appears the Father Lion will have to spend much more time breaking it down for the very inexperienced cubs.

"Do not be discouraged Lion Cubs. This is no easy task even for a full-grown man, but with -practice- you all will be able to execute these movements with ease."Again, he goes over to each child individually to demonstrate the proper technique. Once every child is fluidly advancing and retreating, he asks that each Cub advance to one side of the room then retreat back to the other side, ten times each. He watches each child closely to ensure they are successful.

Children start to make some progress, but their movements and understanding, not to mention fluidity is far from perfect. Some of them, especially the new trio seem to be having a hard time accepting how hard this exercise actually is.

Despite the minimal progress, Dorne encourages them and explains that he is proud of the progress they are making before he goes about to each Cub individually and corrects their mistakes in a soft and comforting voice. As the children finish their drills, he tells them to get some water and take a short break. He addresses the entire group as they rest, "I asked each of you why you wanted to learn to wield a sword and each of ye gave me a different answer. Nicholas... you said you wanted to protect the other children."

And the boy nods with a serious, thoughtful expression.

He then speaks to the three newest Cubs. "You three want to join the Greyfox Tribe and you each understand that such a life requires you to be able to defend yourself... You all must remember your reasons for being here wanting to learn. Clear your mind of any other thoughts and focus on why you are here. Let that reason motivate you during the hard lessons that will be taught."

Future wannabe tribe members straighten up, proud and perhaps closer to understanding than before.

Upon finishing, he smiles and says, "Ten more and we will be done for the day. Come on Lions hop to, ye all can do it!."

Children move to repeat the sequences. Small progress would be visible although there is a long way before they will be able to conduct this exercise without hiccups, stumbling and slip-ups. The last two repetitions seem to be performed at a very slow pace. Fatigue showing on cubs' faces.

He watches proudly as they finish drilling. "Excellent work today, all of you. This is what you all must come to expect from our lessons: they will difficult but ye must remain focused. Each one of you is making good progress and that is because you are trying ye hardest. In time and with practice, each one of you will be able to execute these drills without faltering. And should you falter, I will be there to pick you up and put you back on the right path." As he finishes, he instructs them to 'Form up' and ushers them to the pre-planned snack and then finally back to the Orphanage.

Telia can be seen waking up unusually early. The sorceress rarely greets the dawn but this day, she stands at the side as Ameris goes through the morning prayers with the children. Despite the early hour, for the sorceress anyway, she looks flawless after having done her hair and applied her facial paints. She wears a white and blue dress, with gold trim. It is likely that she appears as a quite striking woman to the children. The finery which surrounds her, is difficult to not notice. It may even be thought of as unusual, as Ilmateri do not adorn themselves with wealth.

If any of the children look her way, she would smile kindly. When Ameris begins to recite the prayer, she lowers her head and touches the red Ilmateri cord around her left wrist, which would be visible to others. Once the prayer comes to and end, Telia raises her head and eyes her husband curiously.

She would then look at the children, to see how well they took to the words and what they might think of the prayers.

"I would like for you all to think of the meaning of kindness, dear children. After dinner today, I would like for you to sit down and discuss it with Brother Ameris, Sylvi and myself." Telia smiles at them and does not show that she suspects that the children perhaps may not understand the prayer, or why they say the words they are made to.

She then recites something herself in a gentle voice, pronouncing the words clearly so that the children might better recall them later.

Kindness is a precious jewel,
That one can give to another.
Kindness is a priceless gem,
That can help you in future.

As Telia recites, she walks towards each child; straightening Timmy's tunic as a way of getting his attention as he likely will have began to fidget and then pulls back a strand of hair in front of Amanda's face.

Kindness does not require money,
It requires true care,
And affection, love and knowledge,
Today which are very rare.

She continues to give attention to each child as she recites but she would not do so with anyone, if they tried to avoid it by stepping back.

Kindness always brings,
Peace to soul and mind.
No better way of salvation,
Other than kindness you would find.

When she reaches Quinn, she touches the center of his chest gently and then his left temple, when she says 'soul and mind'.

Kindness cannot be only shown,
By people adult and old.
Kindness can be shown by,
Any heart pure like gold.

At the last words, she places a hand over Mili's heart for a brief moment before she goes to stand next to Ameris.

Telia then waits a moment for the children to absorb the words, "I believe it is now time for breakfast. I will join you, if you do not mind." She would observe each child as they eat together but not in an obvious manner and would act friendly and try to talk to any child who would seem open to conversation.

BACKGROUND: Was in training with a Mystran wizard but caravan they were traveling with was attacked by gnolls. She was one of the survivors found by the Army of New Dawn. Mili is able to cast a couple of first tier spells.

Added by Telia: Aeili had revealed to me that if a child is suitable and if Temple finances allow, the Temple of Mystra could take on a girl or boy. Mili is already familiar with Mystra and if she wishes to, I think we should begin to make arrangements for the Temple of Mystra to tutor her. She knows first tier spells even at such a young age, which to me shows that Mili really has an aptitude to magic. I have some coin set aside for the Temple of Mystra, which Aeili refused to accept as she feels guilty if it does not go to those in need. This coin, can instead be paid to cover Mili's apprenticeship. I am sure Aeili cannot say no to that.

BACKGROUND: Formerly a nanny at a residence in a village west of Misty Forest that was abandoned during the war in 1351 DR

Sylvi is a woman in late forties. She worked as a nanny and a teacher for over 20 years. Child care is all Sylvi knows, she can establish a relationship with almost any child. She is known to be stern but caring and always fair, a strong critic of any kind of favoritism. Her down to earth and rather pragmatic nature together with a fair grasp of few domains of knowledge like history, geography, arithmetics make her a good teacher.

Added by Telia: Please ask Sylvi sensitive questions about the children rather than the children themselves. She seems to be an attentive woman and the children should focus on their tasks and games than be subject to probing questions.

On the 19th of Alturiak, farewells were said to Simon who was taken by rangers and druids to the Elder Circle's grove. The large feline would at first have been afraid to venture outside, sensing that something was going on but a Greater Heroism, gave him the courage to take the steps on to a new path. Simon was then through druidic magical means transported to the grove. Telia would share the news Dorne came with, that Simon has successfully had his teeth and claws re-grown.

Usually during the morning prayers,

During the morning prayer kids are quiet, still drowsy and slightly disorientated. Even Timmy and Dannic seem to be behaving well. Stern, heavy look that Sylvi appears to keep over them, holds the rascals in check. Children are used by now to the routine and the usual outline of the prayers.

The day Telia joins them however and recites the poem about kindness,

Telia's part in the morning prayers comes out as a surprise to the children. They way she looks doesn't make it any better. Her presence, now that children are starting to wake up properly, catches their attention. In a way, the finery of her clothing and the way she looks make it difficult for them to focus properly on the words she is saying.

Timmy would gape in wonder, curiosity and awe at the woman when she approached him, he definitely didn't catch a word from what she was talking about. He would go unusually still when she started straightening his tunic.

Amanda, on the other hand, would be the only child in the group not looking much Telia's way. When the woman approached her, girl would move away, hiding behind whoever was standing closest.

Quinn would turn an impressive shade of deep red upon being touched by Telia. Which, in turn, would cause Dannic to giggle and nudge Quinn into the side. The joker of the group would whisper something to the older boy with a crooked smile.

Andrew would grab the little notebook he carries around, rubbing the edge of it nervously. His gaze would be practically glued to Telia while he does so. It is obvious he itches to draw something. Perhaps the sorceress herself.

Mili would look to the finery surrounding Telia with a curious and studious gaze. She would tug at her plain, simple dress in thought, her expression turning a little bit self-conscious. But it would be soon gone when she turned her attention to the words spoken by Ameris' wife. The oldest one the group would most likely be the only one actually paying attention. Upon touching, she would smile gently to Telia.

Upon noticing that Amanda tries to hide, Telia does not try to make further contact with her.

At breakfast, when Telia joins the children,

Plain, kind but boring priest, personality to which children are so used to, would be almost ignored during breakfast. The only one paying attention to Ameris would be Quinn. The quiet, earnest-looking boy would ask the priest if it would be possible for him to get some thick needles and threads so he could repair his and Timmy's shoes.

Timmy would try to sit -very close- to Telia and share his bread covered with jam with her. He would not speak much, entirely taken by the beautiful, kind and nicely smelling woman.

Dannic would attempt to shower the sorceress with questions about performances, but Sylvi would put a quick end to it, stating that there is much to do after breakfast and there is no time to waste for such debate now.

Andrew would sit and when Sylvi is not looking he would draw few lines in his notebook.

Amanda would barely touch the food, nibbling at it with a remote look on her face.

Mili would be quickly done with her portion eager to start the lessons planned for today.

Telia would thank Timmy for sharing his bread with her and eat the offered food. When Dannic asks about performances and Sylvi tells him off, the sorceress would tell Dannic that they can find time to speak of it later in the day or some other time. When she notices that Andrew is sketching, she would ask what he is drawing but if he seemed hesitant to tell or show her, she would instead direct the talk to drawing techniques with a charcoal pen.

When it is time for discussion,

After dinner Sylvi would sit the kids in a circle and then allow Ameris to introduce himself and say the things the priest intended to say before she takes over and asks children if there is anything they wish to share.

Quinn, as pragmatic as he is, mentions the need of fixing his and Timmy's shoes or perhaps giving the younger one a new set. When asked about kindness he shrugs gently saying that everyone should be kind to one another.

Mili thanks the Lion's for their care and support of the children and asks if she could be of any help. Then she would speak about kindness saying that kindness needs to be answered with kindness and offered to those who lack or need it. That only a gentle and kind approach can breed good deeds.

Andrew would mention that kindness is something everyone should try to use as much as possible because kind people have pretty faces, faces easier to draw.

Dannic would try to argue that kindness can be shown in different ways, that making someone laugh, tickle someone sad and tease other brings them joy, which is his way of being kind.

Amanda remains silent, there would be a palpable tension about the girl. She casts many nervous glances about the room and avoids looks of other people.

Timmy once again sits himself as close to Telia as possible, more confident this time he clenches his little, a bit dirty hand on the fabric of the dress that sorceress is wearing.

Sylvi would listen to the kids then add some commentary to their words. Noting Amanda's behavior, she repeats Ameris' words about everyone making sure that the children are safe. She reminds them about their duties and responsibilities to do homework and help with chores. Later on, Sylvi adds her own thoughts about kindness before concluding the group talks and ushering kids to go back to their tasks.

Telia would not mind Timmy sitting so close to her or the grubby hand clenching her dress. She would listen to each child speak but would not force anyone to share their thoughts. In a gentle manner, she tells Andrew that it is the kindness in one's soul that matters and that is what the gods see. That the gods do not care if someone is pretty or ugly. She advises Andrew to try to catch the soul of the people he draws.

Telia would overall, try to observe the children and try to be with them at least for one meal a day. During these, the conversations would be light and she would seek to find out things each child likes or is good at. She would also inquire about things the children want to do in the future and would listen even if the answers would be ridiculous perhaps, at times.

Dannic and Andrew would grill Telia about art, theatre, drawing, performances. They can't wait for a trip to the White Mask. Dannic is a curious, easy going one, definitely the most charismatic of the kids. Andrew is more an observer he loves drawing and sketching. He mostly draws people.

Quinn would rarely take part in a discussion on his own accord but he answers direct questions politely. After few days, it would be apparent that this boy is very pragmatic and likes to works with his hands making things, fixing things. There is no artistic side to it.

Timmy would try to shadow Telia whenever an opportunity to do so showed itself. Dannic would tease him for it which would cause the younger boy to express some anger and even cry. Timmy would try to catch Telia's attention with wild stories he himself creates or try to make her play with him in his imaginary games.

Amanda would keep her distance from everyone except for Sylvi and to a degree Mili. She would ignore any questions from other people but she would do her chores. If left to her own devices Amanda would sit in some corner watching other children or hide somewhere and then read a book. For some reason, Amanda seems to appear rather fearful, skittish and nervous. She looks around a lot and is rather jumpy. The number of adults and strangers doesn't help really.

Mili would engage in polite conversations and together with Quinn she would be the most helpful one around. Obviously, she loves to study and help others study as well. After few days she would start probing Telia about some theoretical questions about magic, spells, and such.

The questions about art, theatre, drawing, performances would all be answered and Telia would show a patience for these. She would say that she hopes that they can all go to the Theater soon and just play there.

When Dannic teases Timmy to the point that the younger child angers or cries, Telia herself would show quick anger. She is not one to raise her voice in anger but there would be more of a coldness in her demeanour and especially her eyes. "There is no true joy in making someone feel unhappy or sad, Dannic. I want you to think back on the words you said about kindness." Her anger cools just as quickly as it arrives.

Telia would allow Timmy to shadow her when proper. She would often make it a point of sitting in the meeting room upstairs, where the children usually dine and have their lessons, either reading or writing. When she has business that requires her to be in the lounge or there are things that needs her full attention, she would not allow any of the children to follow her. Sylvi and any others in Pathfinder Hall would know that the children are not to idle in the lounge and only be there if they have a reason to, for example, aiding someone in the kitchen and then only under supervision.

She would take note of Amanda being afraid but would not approach the girl, thinking it would frighten her even more.

Telia would answer Mili's questions about magic and spells but it may perhaps be evident that Telia cannot answer any advanced questions about the workings of magic. Being a sorceress, she does not quite grasp magic the same way wizards do, not having studied it as much. She would however certainly know the basics and be willing to share such things and discuss them. She would ask Mili how the girl would feel about visiting the Temple of Mystra when time permits and speak with the priestesses there.

The noise level of the children,

During the day kids are creating the usual amount of noise, a group of them would do. During the night, after a fully packed with tasks day, they drop exhausted into their beds and do not disturb anyone. With the exception of Amanda that wakes up screaming every now and then. But Sylvi handles that quickly enough before it becomes a bigger disturbance.

Telia would have some concern over Amanda, not really knowing what to do about her and young girl's fear. She would seek to consult Sylvi and ask the older woman what the best approach might be.

She then consults her familiar, the orange tabby Silvyr, who appears just as a regular house cat to everyone else. After some coaxing and promises of ham, the cat would seek to be closer to Amanda and would even try to sleep at the foot end of her bed. Silvyr would be made to do this at least for a tenday and Telia would consult her cat how Amanda reacted to his presence.

Mili, Dannic, Andrew and Timmy show some interest in Aaron. Mili asks about subjects the young knight wants to teach. Dannic and Andrew ahs him about the knight equipment and how did he become a knight. Timmy just tries to mimic Aarons behavior before running off to search for Telia to tell her a story...

Quinn greets Aaron politely by other than that he doesn't approach the man.

Amanda ignores Aaron and if approached, she just looks to the floor and moves away.

As Mili asks the Knight about subjects, his eyes would grow slightly in his own excitement for the topics. "I have many things to teach you all. We will be practicing our reading skills while studying history. Great battles fought by those who stood against great tyrants as well as times of peace and prosperity. About heroes who inspire us to better ourselves. Far away kingdoms, and even some about this very city." He would try to emphasis these points in a way that would sound fun and exciting for the children (Though, with a Perform skill of 8, it may not have been the best performance).

As the two boys ask him about his equipment, Aaron would reply, "My sword was a gift for service in Cormyr." Without drawing the sword out of its scabbard, he would show Dannic and Andrew the scabbard, letting them see the etch work along the surface and ruby in the pommel. Knocking on the breast plate of his full plate armor, he would tell them. "My armor was a gift from my old mentor, Sir Philip Highthorne. He commissioned dwarven crafters, that live far away from here, to make this for me. It is enhanced with the scales from a Blue Dragon to help protect me from harm." He would pause if there was any effect to the part about dragon scales. "As to how I became a knight? Well, that is a long story and, if you really want to know, I can tell you when we have more time. Perhaps after a lesson one day."

Aaron would offer Timmy a smile and ruffle his hair a bit as he mimicked his motions, before he ran off.

He would note Quinn's more calm nature and move on from bothering the boy after his introduction.

Noticing the apprehension from Amanda, the knight would watch her move off, as he approached. After a thoughtful moment, he would remove a small sweet from his bags and place it where the girl had sat, then give her space so that she would feel more comfortable returning to her place.

After greeting the children, Aaron would leave the Hall for a time and return with a cart full of books and writing materials. He would set up for one of his shifts to act as protector of the children, by sitting in a chair near Quinn, without any words. From out of his bags he would pull a piece of untouched wood and a little carving knife and begin to carve a knight chess piece in the wood (Though it would likely be crude at the best). If Quinn took notice at all, he would notice that Aaron had placed another piece of wood and small carving knife on the table between himself and Quinn.

After a meeting with Telia, Endelyon and Aeric soured upon mention of Charraj, for the second time, Aeili politely and quietly left the building. She returned later (Nea also appearing from the shadows) and after some further conversation with Elly, Aeric and Nea, left a beautifully bound and illustrated book in the sitting room.

During the morning prayer kids are quiet, still drowsy and slightly disorientated. Even Timmy and Dannic seem to be behaving well. Stern, heavy look that Sylvi appears to keep over them, holds the rascals in check. Children are used by now to the routine and the usual outline of the prayers.

Ameris' approval at the oderly conduct would be evident. He would indeed compliment Sylvi on her efforts.

Telia's part in the morning prayers comes out as a surprise to the children. They way she looks doesn't make it any better. Her presence, now that children are starting to wake up properly, catches their attention. In a way, the finery of her clothing and the way she looks make it difficult for them to focus properly on the words she is saying.

Timmy would gape in wonder, curiosity and awe at the woman when she approached him, he definitely didn't catch a word from what she was talking about. He would go unusually still when she started straightening his tunic.

Amanda, on the other hand, would be the only child in the group not looking much Telia's way. When the woman approached her, girl would move away, hiding behind whoever was standing closest.

Quinn would turn an impressive shade of deep red upon being touched by Telia. Which, in turn, would cause Dannic to giggle and nudge Quinn into the side. The joker of the group would whisper something to the older boy with a crooked smile.

Andrew would grab the little notebook he carries around, rubbing the edge of it nervously. His gaze would be practically glued to Telia while he does so. It is obvious he itches to draw something. Perhaps the sorceress herself.

Mili would look to the finery surrounding Telia with a curious and studious gaze. She would tug at her plain, simple dress in thought, her expression turning a little bit self-conscious. But it would be soon gone when she turned her attention to the words spoken by Ameris' wife. The oldest one the group would most likely be the only one actually paying attention. Upon touching, she would smile gently to Telia.

Ameris might be quite surprised at these reactions. And it would be evident that they both amuse, and please him. He would not intervene, or indeed pass comment around the children. They would notice his smile, though.

Plain, kind but boring priest, personality to which children are so used to, would be almost ignored during breakfast. The only one paying attention to Ameris would be Quinn. The quiet, earnest-looking boy would ask the priest if it would be possible for him to get some thick needles and threads so he could repair his and Timmy's shoes.

Timmy would try to sit -very close- to Telia and share his bread covered with jam with her. He would not speak much, entirely taken by the beautiful, kind and nicely smelling woman.

Dannic would attempt to shower the sorceress with questions about performances, but Sylvi would put a quick end to it, stating that there is much to do after breakfast and there is no time to waste for such debate now.

Andrew would sit and when Sylvi is not looking he would draw few lines in his notebook.

Amanda would barely touch the food, nibbling at it with a remote look on her face.

Mili would be quickly done with her portion eager to start the lessons planned for today.

Ameris would engage with Quinn, promising to bring him that which he needs and speaking with approval of his task. And indeed, when Ameris returns later, the needles and threads are provided from those used in the Temple of Ilmater.

Ameris would try and encourage Amanda to eat, in a gentle voice. He would not press her though.

Ameris' table manners might be noticed to be impeccable. As might his excessive thanks to anyone who hands him anything.

After dinner Sylvi would sit the kids in a circle and then allow Ameris to introduce himself and say the things the priest intended to say before she takes over and asks children if there is anything they wish to share.

Quinn, as pragmatic as he is, mentions the need of fixing his and Timmy's shoes or perhaps giving the younger one a new set. When asked about kindness he shrugs gently saying that everyone should be kind to one another.

Mili thanks the Lion's for their care and support of the children and asks if she could be of any help. Then she would speak about kindness saying that kindness needs to be answered with kindness and offered to those who lack or need it. That only a gentle and kind approach can breed good deeds.

Andrew would mention that kindness is something everyone should try to use as much as possible because kind people have pretty faces, faces easier to draw.

Dannic would try to argue that kindness can be shown in different ways, that making someone laugh, tickle someone sad and tease other brings them joy, which is his way of being kind.

Amanda remains silent, there would be a palpable tension about the girl. She casts many nervous glances about the room and avoids looks of other people.

Timmy once again sits himself as close to Telia as possible, more confident this time he clenches his little, a bit dirty hand on the fabric of the dress that sorceress is wearing.

Sylvi would listen to the kids then add some commentary to their words. Noting Amanda's behavior, she repeats Ameris' words about everyone making sure that the children are safe. She reminds them about their duties and responsibilities to do homework and help with chores. Later on, Sylvi adds her own thoughts about kindness before concluding the group talks and ushering kids to go back to their tasks.

Ameris would take note of any medical problems he might have identified; if not given the chance during the group discussions he would do so before bed, after asking Sylvi of anything he should be aware of.

He would speak with approval of the words said by each child. The perceptive might think he is trying too hard on this point!

Ameris is seen spending his nights at the Temple of Ilmater. He would be heading back to Pathfinders Hall for evening prayers with the children, but some time after they were asleep he would head to the temple, staying there until dawn for morning prayers and breafkast, before departing again for the temple. He would still try and make the afternoon group discussion with the children, but would seem a bit bleary eyed at first when he did so.

In the temple he is seen ascending to the upper rooms; oddly, whenever he is up there, Brother Khalso is downstairs. And when he is not in the temple, Brother Khalso is upstairs.

During the night, after a fully packed with tasks day, they drop exhausted into their beds and do not disturb anyone. With the exception of Amanda that wakes up screaming every now and then. But Sylvi handles that quickly enough before it becomes a bigger disturbance.

Ameris would, after evening prayers one night, approach Amanda and ask her to sit by the Alatar of Tyr with him. He would speak some quiet words to her.

Ameris would approach and speak softly.

"Amanda, would you sit with me by the Altar for a little while, please?"

If she does not run away, he would lead her over and sit quietly. Noticeably, beside the altar, is an armour rack, upon which rests his suit of warplate with a lion symbol embossed on the helm, and a great towershield bearing on it an engraved Triadic knight.

"We won't let anyone harm you here." He says, softly. "Dorne and Sir Aaron and Michael and the Steward. And even me."

He gestures to the plate armour. "I will put that on, and make sure no one will get to you. Alright?"

He looks to the child, to see the reaction.

Amanda hesitates but then she follows the priest picking up a spot that allows her to still keep some distance between them. Blue eyes look to Ameris, there is still some reserve in her every move but she listens to what the man has to say. A small frown forms on her forehead at the question asked and her expression turns pensive while she looks back and forth between the armor and the priest. After a moment Amanda nods in agreement.

The topic of history doesn't leave much of an impression with Amanda or Timmy but the rest of kids appears mildly interested.

Dannic would gently press for the Knighthood story from Aaron, whenever the Knight had time.

After a longer while Amanda comes back to where she was and picks up the little sweet gift before darting away somewhere.

Quinn observes the chess piece, then after searching a moment in his tools picks up a small blade and a piece of wood from in front of the fireplace. A thoughtful moment passes then he starts his own carving and soon a rook piece, even and well proportioned, stands in front of the knight.

Aaron would pick up the rook piece and examine it with visible appreciation. "Very well done, Quinn. A powerful piece that is used in many combinations. Do you know how to play the game?" He would ask, setting the piece down.

As he waited for the boy's response he would pull from under his collar a platinum necklace with a red colored, stylized knight piece that was made from stone with small diamonds in the eye sockets attached to it.

After the boy's response to his question of if he played Lanceboard, he would ask Quinn "Do you think you could make for me a wooden version of this piece, and the other pieces?"

Michael and Rain become more frequent visitors in the Pathfinder's Hall, with Michael continuing to help not just with the breakfasts and dinners, but lunch time meals as well. He sticks to his simple meal preparations, Tarina has to do the 'heavy lifting' of the complicated recipes or baking. Meanwhile, Michael lets any of the children willing or wanting to play with Rain. He even provides a leather ball (lent from a particularly fey-like local elf) for the children to take her out in the back alley and throw and play fetch.

Rain herself is full of energy - wagging tail, doggy grins, and snuffles and snorts at all the new scents coming and going from the hall and its denizens. When she's playing with the children Michael eventually has to step in and make her rest inside - as she's given to play fetch to past the point of exhaustion. Catching the ball dutifully each time its thrown.

Michael eventually approaches Dorne with the line of questioning.

"I know you're taking up their martial training. You think any of them have an interest in archery? Maybe working with animals?"

"Ashley" Would be seen at the Pathfinders hall offering to donating her time cleaning up after the children and assisting Michael Dunn in the kitchen. She would if allowed, spend time with the children playing games and singing songs. In an effort to help the Orphans of Baldur's Gate.

It already having been established that contact with the children was only allowed by those vouched for by Pathfinder Hall's guardians, this would not be allowed until Ashley was vouched for.

It would be clear that only those who have been vouched for are allowed to see the children, as the safety of the children is taken seriously. The doors to the quarters where the children are unless supervised by a caretaker or another adult, are always kept locked.

When Ameris learned of Ashley's offer, he would make clear to all she was not to be admitted without his express approval; and would ask that if she called back it was made known that Ashley was to speak to him, or Telia, about helping around Pathfinder's Hall.

The implication is that she has not been vouched for.
