Background:
Stede's mother worked at her family tavern in a small fishing settlement along the southern coast of the Sea of Fallen Stars. Stede was born of a fling she had with a suave sailor who was in town for a couple weeks. His father was later hung for piracy.
His mother later married a local fisherman. Stede didn't get along well with his step-father.
He left home shortly after his eighteenth birthday, stealing as much gold as he knew where to find before leaving town.
Stede doesn't like to talk about his past. If pressed he'll say he's from a small, nameless, fishing community. He also claims he nothing of his father, though he knows he was a pirate.
Goals:
Stede would like to be wealthy, the richer the better. He is always looking for a quick score. Be it finding some lost treasure, or acquiring one still in someone else's possession.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Perhaps he stole something of sufficient value when he left town that one of the villagers is looking for him.
