With one of my characters that I do not play very frequently, I get the following error:
Invalid character - player login refused. Item equipped with an "item level" disallowed by server restrictions.
Oddly, I could log in to this toon about a week ago.

I saw some people reporting that a few items have increased in level. Unless you got de-leveled by a DM and logged out without unequipping level restricted items, this is likely what has happened.
Regardless of the why, send a PM to the HDMs. They are the only ones who can mess around with your character files to fix it.
