For real?

Are you familiar with D&D lore?
Hidden: show
Morality is absolute, and is physical force of the universe. Evil deeds can corrupt the world, raise the undead. You cannot commit lesser evil in the name of greater good (evil wins in that case). Fiends are pure undiluted evil. Most warlocks are evil, and most of them draw power from devils. Tieflings descend from fiends which are evil, and since the birth are biased towards evil. Drow worship spiders, raid and kill surfaces and deal with illithids. Illithid can only be born by sacrificing a sentient race, by the way.
Game is not real life, your character is not you, my character is not me.
Conflicting RP can be a lot of fun, basically in the progress of one character murdering another, both parties can be having a blast because they enjoy the way story unfolds. I just want the thing to be what they're supposed to be.
Calantyr wrote:Is there a surface starting area where someone could make an evil character? For example, is there a starting region where I can grind a level 1 evil orc barbarian and never have to bother with the laws of goody-goody Baldur's Gate? Because if there is, I'm making Evil McBashStab as soon as the DDoS stops.
Lighthouse near candlekeep, and cave in the same location, pretty much.
You can start at roaring shore and in soubar, but it is pretty much impossible to get out of there as level 1 without getting slaughtered at the moment. (Well, aside from using caravans and boats)
chambordini wrote:Anyway, if you play a warlock or an orc or an elf, and you want to be hated on, you should start doing things deserving of hate.

I think that's the most natural way of getting what you want anyway.

That is all.
And the most suitable characters for this kind of rp are all low level. The world shall feel the wrath of my level 8 druid!

I guess I'll need to think of something.

Familiar? I guess so, I mean at one point I preferred D&D rule books to conventional porn (j/k). Seriously though I fully understand the lore behind most published campaign settings. I know damn well the difference between characters and real people.

I'm not advocating any personal stance on this other than "
I don't believe we need any rhetoric supporting or condoning racism, and classism. In real life or a game.
"

If you want conflict, logon and roll/stir it up. Everyone ells can make their own choice. Just play your sheet.

I think this speaks for itself.

Gnomes are just waiting for an opportunity to steal your girl.

What do we learn from todays lesson? Pointy ears indicate evil just as much as the pointy horns of a Tiefling.

Here' the thing. According to the setting, thousands of OTHER warlocks and tieflings in the world should've done the job by now.

I enjoy unexpected turns of events the most. So my characters will react to anything the world throws at them. Evil characters will react very violently. However, you're suggesting, that I need to go out of my way for ANYTHING to happen, and force course of events that will be highly predictable by making "destroyers".

Right now you can make the most absent-minded character of all times, load him with gold and nobody would try to rob him. Or you can make a necromancer, walk around with zombiess, and people will give you and the zombie hugs and flowers. I guess if drow raiding party makes it to the surfaces and slaughters a village of two, half of continent will promptly fall in love with them. Or something.

What's the point of playing then? It isn't supposed to be "my happy place with rainbows and puppies" simulator.

But that is the point of this Server, mate. That is the paradigm that is upheld.

That won't change a thing. Cards are far too stacked against any one player, and any one type of RP interest, to switch the paradigm.

What's next, then. Turning it into another clone of the #1 non-pg-13 social nwn2 server?

There were amazing situations with my 1st char here. If what you say is true, nothing even remotely similar is going to ever happen - even here.

Whose opinion about paradigm was that anyway?

So if I made a cleric of Bhaal that revelled in death and murder... I would still get the benefit of the doubt?

Oh HELL yes. Grant me your power, dread master, that I might end these weaklings! What, only after I go on a date with you? What are you planning? Why no, I'm not seeing anyone at the moment. Why do you ask?

There aren't many Orcs around my neighbourhood; not aware of any Warlocks either.

Do you have a problem distinguishing reality from fantasy?

Your ability to decipher information from two sentences reflects credit upon yourself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of man kind. Thank you for your bold service.

Please take another crack at it and review again. Paying close attention to the second sentence which I've kindly converted to bold text.

One time my tiefling killed the entire party in a dm event using an acid flask then ran away. I didn't get xp for it.

Sigh.
The sentence in bold text sorta implies that you're treating game and reality as being equivalent things (Whether it is true or not is not my problem.). Hence you got this kind of question.

No, I don't want to discuss your position, even though it makes no sense to me.
