I never posted to troll or debate the ethics of video games.

You say one thing and do the opposite.

I want fun. I want stories. And I don't want a "land of hugs and puppies". Because that one isn't fun.

Look I said there is no need to push people to be more confrontational on the server. Let them do it them selves.

I said I personally dislike racism, classism, rape, slavery and child abuse in my video games. Especially ones that make peoples character at times subject to them regardless of personal preference.

Sounds like you should do it then! Grab that RP crutch rolled off a hackmaster chart that tells you how to make a character and racist away! (Now THAT is a trolling)

If you don't want to deal with in game poor reactions to race you can pretty much be any race besides tiefling and grey orc (maybe half orc, but even that is probably give) and never experience racism. I think the point of the post originally was this kind of negative reaction to races that warrant a negative reaction is never seen... This is sad for folks familiar with the setting who want to respect the lore because as NegInfinity stated he wants an in character reaction recognizing his creative choices in race/class.

It's best to read the Forgotten Realm history. You will understand racism better. Elves and orcs destroyed huge cities on each side ( cities of 50 000 people, which is huge in Faerun standards ) With orcs starting it. Now pretend this happened to a town near you 2-3 generations away. You will most likely hate that race, or at least be very suspicious of it.

Yuan ti, drow, orcs, druegars, etc, they're all races that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people in the last thousand year. There's even more reason to hate them than even warlocks ( in my opinion ), and the least of them are actually tieflings.

Yes. This. Wouldn't call my choices incredibly creative, but if everybody is treated in the same fashion, what's even the point of picking another race or class?

My orc is a Warpriest, not your run of the mill one, oh no. He's the first of his kind, a Social Justice Warpriest. You want to talk racism? Check your human, elf and dwarf privilege first. You all get fancy towns with culture, plenty of food and the ability to earn steady incomes. Orcs aren't even given the chance to do any of this. The Faerun civilisations go out of their way to oppress and humiliate the orcs. They call us hostile but only because they have made us so. They call us pig faces, proving their bigoted nature. This is really triggering me.

Also, don't read the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Narnia, The Rift War Saga, (Enter any other fantasy book in existence), or watch any of the movies, as there is racism in them

Those are not video games I play.

It's okay to not want to participate in any of these topics IG, though players and PCs may avoid RPing with you as it breaks immersion for people who have a concept of how the character would react to different races and then RP it. Just sayin'. But, you cannot tell someone else "you should not encourage people to RP these things", when they are RPing their PC appropriately for the setting and the server.

I can tell anyone just about anything, just like anyone ells can say anything they want (clearly i imply within server/forum rules). I stated my piece.

At no point did I knock any ones RP(except for the clearly noted troll post which is a joke), you can simply read the post and understand or don't.

There is a difference between real life and the game. And portraying their character (within the PG 13 and the many rules of the server) does not mean that they are a terrible human player and will be warped by their RP IG. Players are not their character. And the characters do not represent real life.

I've personally never witnessed anyone just letting a gray orc, drow etc simply walk by the FAI. The reactions I've seen are usually appropriate. Those who've had negative dealings with such treat them as hostile and those who have no idea what they are act curious or otherwise suspicious.

Before anybody says this falls outside of lore I would like to direct you to the Orc creation story from Dragon magazine.

In the beginning all the gods met and drew lots for the parts of the world in which their representative races would dwell. The human gods drew the lot that allowed humans to dwell where they pleased, in any environment. The elven gods drew the green forests, the dwarven deities drew the high mountains, the gnomish gods the rocky, sunlit hills, and the halfling gods picked the lot that gave them the fields and meadows.
