The Sticky Book

This ugly volume's cover is green, leathery skin which is warm and sticky to the touch. A golden goat-like eye is centralized. When you hold it in your hands, you can almost feel a throbbing heartbeat. Its gaze is horrible. When alone with the book the eye seems to follow your movements.
The fine vellum pages within are all stuck together with milky goo, but are themselves miraculously unstained and in impeccable condition as though preserved by the substance. Each sticky page must be carefully pulled apart from its neighbors when turned and leaves a smelly residue on the reader's fingers.
What is written within seem to be numbered religious verses in the infernal langauge. Rather than inked, they seem scorched.
How this unpleasant book came into the possession of Drail is anyone's guess...
