Re: Paladin Build
Well, currently i have 12 CON with the cloak of gram mouse and 12 dex if i use my scimitar (Dervish sword) and can get toughness from the spell "Second Wind". so i think i am fine in that part haha, but thanks for the advice ! will take a look into it, also would it be better to switch from longsword to some other weapon for smiting ? like a scimitar has a wider critical range (15-20 with keen) even though it has a lower base damage ?

almost all of your damage crits so scimitar is a fine choice.

Re: Paladin Build
With a Paladin 20 / DC 10 split, you can produce a build with EDM and Great Smite IV. If you want.

Re: Paladin Build
So just a few questions on this: would anyone consider a great smiter better for pve/pvp than say maybe a favored soul 27/ paladin 3 build?
Also, for great smiter is it worth it to compromise some charisma for other abilities for the sake of rp?

Re: Paladin Build
It depends on how the build is but in general great smiters are more PvP oriented.
A good balance between pvp and pve is a an paladin26/monk4 EDM build with evasion and expose weakness.
Of course Favoredsoul/paladin builds are the strongest, but there are so many of them...
Personally, i deleted my Favored Soul and stayed with a paladin build. Paladin RP is a bit challenging and this is a good chance for me to learn

Re: Paladin Build
If the build we are comparing is Favored Soul 27/Paladin 3, I would have to lean ever so slightly towards our Paladin. However, if that build is Favored Soul 26/Paladin 4, then it is the Favored Soul all the way. (With Blackguard or Cleric a three level dip is enough, but Paladin gets Turn Undead on level four.)xLegionx wrote:So just a few questions on this: would anyone consider a great smiter better for pve/pvp than say maybe a favored soul 27/ paladin 3 build?

Re: Paladin Build
Also depends who your fighting, With a smite build best pve content is against bosses everything else can take a little while. In pvp if the target is evil or other encase of smite infidel/evil, The odds of you winning are rather high even without a crit you will mostly 1 or 2 shot. beware displacement and mirror image, make sure you have blind fight if that's your intent.
That said i recently switched out my paladin/smite in favor of paladin/cleric as some of the new changes make it much harder to do consistent damage. FS/Paladin, gets the same rp with higher AB, Saves, AC, DR, Healing and a higher average damage. You won't be able to blast bosses in two hits but you can solo most of them.
You require charisma to unlock greater smite but once you have it i would say you don't need to progress cha any further.

Re: Paladin Build
Can you elaborate on what changes made it much harder to do consistent damage ? is it because of the holy sword change ?Ariella wrote:Also depends who your fighting, With a smite build best pve content is against bosses everything else can take a little while.
