Items of extreme rarity and magical power

Unread post by xLegionx »

So I've been surfing through the amount of items that are available in the auction house and I've been thinking about what items I would maybe like to get one day for my pally. So I've been wondering: what are some of the most powerful items available to everyone? Would anyone maybe like to share their knowledge?

You probably won't get a honest answer here. Why? Many Players I know, many of whom are long time players on BGTSCC, fear advertising their gear as doing so might see the DMs cone nerf said item. At worse. At best, it would/could start feelings of jealousy and OOC hate towards them, being chastised as either a DM suck-up or some mad grinder=poor RPer.

That said, if you've scanned the forum Auction House, you've then seen what you may acquire, with anything from a ton of investment to a bit of luck! 8-)

Usefulness depends on the build, really. For instance +3 ability bonus items are quite common, but not every build can make use of them fully.

More generally useful properties are bonus to Dodge AC vs Evil on top of general Dodge AC bonus, bonus feats that are not precursors for other feats in your build. Certain spells with use per day.

I thought that was fixed to not stack anymore?

What kind of gear you can get depends on what you need. The highest AC bonus you can expect of an armour or shield or any item giving AC bonus is +4. Some of those items also come with other bonuses, such as the dodge boots giving +4 dodge AC and +2 dexterity. They can also come with small elemental resistances, either by percentage or by points of damage.

With weapons, the highest you can expect is likely +4 EB, 1d6 elemental damage and maybe one or two more properties. I know some people have stuff like +4 EB, 1d6 acid, keen and massive criticals 1d8 or something. But that is the real epic stuff. I gather +4 EB, +1d4 elemental damage is far more common (though still not actually common).

Ivan says +3 ability, and that's correct. There are some very, very rare chances of getting +4 ability, but the rarity of these is such that you should never really build for it unless you already have such an item.

Skill points I find largely depend on the skill and whatever else is on the item. For instance, you can get a robe with +10 concentration, but the highest you will ever find of spot on any item, is likely going to be +4.

I think this phrase is key. What everyone can get is anything that isn't unique, so like the named items. This is because many named items are in the loot-table. Some of the classic end-game named items are:

(one for each category)

Belt of Rhaumathr: level 3&4 slot for sorcerers and wizards, Bonus feat spell penetration and spell focus evocation

Mithral fullplate

Epic fighter boots: +4 AC, +2 CON, Bonus feat dash

Isaacs forcestone: Amulet with level 4&6 bonus slots for wizards.

Frostmaiden's Bane: Light shield with +3 AC, no ASF, 20/- vs cold

Epic holy shield: Heavy shield with +4 AC and extra turning

Tower shield I forgot the name of: +4 AC, +3 CON, +10 HP (or something like that)

Epic holy gloves: +4 EB, +2 divine damage

Simbulmyn bracers: Bonus feats iron will, toughness, improved initiative, +2 AC

Forest Queen's blessing: Cloak with +3 hide, +3 move silently, +1 universal saves, +3 vs disease, +1 regeneration.

Epic snow tiger helmet: +4 AC, +2 CON

Ring of frozen falls: Bonus feat dodge, improved initiative, lightning reflexes, 10% cold immunity.

Scythe I forgot the name of: DC 18 STUN 1 round/25%, +3 vamp reg, +4 EB, +D4 or D6 damage.

What about spell resistance? Anyone have a notion on the item with the highest spell resistance is?

Out of curiosity, has anyone ever come across gloves with +6 heal or sense motive? I know ones with concentration exist, but I am unaware if they exist for any of the other skills out there.

I have been looking for a pair of both of those for a while now.

I also know that a ring of +6 hide exists, which I guess can be classed as very powerful.

These drop on occasion. Periapt of the Lost Witch SR 28 and Rings of Arcane Defenses and Sash of Shimmering both provide SR20 I believe. I have seen cloth with SR 33 and I personally use a plain morningstar with SR 30.

Ive never seen gloves that grant heal higher than +3.

Rings of Hiding youll find on occasion in the auction house, both IG and forum.
There are greater and epic cloaked amulets that give +3/+4 hide and ms

I apparently have a set of cursed "Gloves of Finding Anything Useful" in that I've played this server for years and have not been able to find anything I could actually use. I don't know how people can end up with millions in gold and 14 +4 swords of elemental damage +6, but it seems to happen.

Anyone have a remove curse scroll they want to share?
