Sigil and the planes
So, as far as I know the server uses the 3rd edition ruleset but not in the case of the cosmology. I would like some to know the "offical" ruling regarding this matter.

Re: Sigil and the planes
With regards to lore, we use the most appropriate source with regards to the timeline, but taking account of any retcons.
For events and history, this usually means going as early as possible. The richest details tend to be in second edition material; first edition material can be very useful but elements of it were retconned by second edition material (which included much detail applicable for our timeline, for some areas), whereas third edition either expanded, or just did not go into as much detail. So usually second edition material is the starting point, embellished or retconning as appropriate.
For overarching concepts, often its the third edition sources that are most relevant, however. Second edition tended to be best for events and history; third tended to be best for things like how magic works - nuts and bolts of the setting. Thus Magic of Faerun is the primary source for magic.
In short, we try and use as much as we can, and as much detail as we can, while staying true to 3rd edition mechanics
The planes are something that the above schema does not work for. Planar cosmology radically changed between 2nd and 3rd edition, with little explanation. It was in effect a retcon, although there are hints that neither are perfect models and can be considered "IC theories".
However for your question the short answer is that we use the 3rd edition World Tree cosmology

I must say that I find that rather strange, as few bio's been approved which in fact mentioned Sigil, as far as I know. And that was sometimes where they lived during most of their life etc.
I don't want to regulate how people rp, but that is not the case of "theories".
So, to sum it up, those bio's are not legit?

Re: Sigil and the planes
Sigil exists in editions after 2nd Edition.
The actual explanation IMHO is that the various planar cosmologies are probably just theories, IC'ly. but I don't particularly want to force that down people's throats as they get upset
Sigil based biographies can be approved. We do ask people to play FR characters, and while Sigil "exists" we aren't keen on making a Planeswalker "just because" so tend to ask why a given character needs to be such (there are clear examples of characters who benefit from such a background)

Thanks for the answer!
