This was brought up before and got denied. I dont know if others feel different now with the dispel fix, but i think it should stay as is.

I'd like to add, maybe it doesn't do as much damage for arcane. Perhaps 1d4 or even 1d3. Maybe there's other options. Thank you again.

Hi,

I -think- the main issue with this is GMW. Wiz / Clerics can take ANY weapon (Ie no EB) that already has elemental damage on it and make it a +5 weapon. Ranger / Druid / shamans don't have GMW, but can take any +3/4 weapon they find IG and add 1d8 damage to it.

What you change for one you'll have to change for all (Ie. Give ranger / druid GMW), so a little more to the equation than just extend the duration for wizards. Then factor in UMD'ers using the scrolls I suppose too? (druid scrolls are harder to find).

They may also wait to see what the new enchanting system will do also.

Not saying anything for/against, just saying it may take some time.

I think 1d8 is way too much. Perhaps call it lesser, and make it 1. at fourth level make it blades of fire (or frost) and make it 1d4, and for a sixth level spell, make it 1d8.

Then it should have the same duration for all classes, at 1 round/level.

As it is now, a level 2 spell is making druid weapons twice as powerful as the end result of a level 10 warrior of darkness/anointed knight/dragon warrior. I realize they get the high BAB, but druids get a whole spellbook on exchange for medium BAB.

In fact, it seems a lot of the new spells are overpowered. But this one in particular I just ran across playing a druid today, and thought I would make the suggestion to weaken it.

How people want to give all classes equal abilities. Make then one single class with few different names and feats description. Perfect equality perfect dullness.

Its good the way it is. Advantages balances disadvantages. gmw balances flame weapon, etc.

I would like to make an appeal for this spell as well. It is meant as a short duration 1-2 fights spell, just like for example divine favor for clerics. Maybe add a max duration to it, like 10 rounds or something to keep it in check if you feel that is needed.

The current duration of 12 seconds really makes it quite unusable. Half that time is generally wasted on lag, meaning you might get 1-2 chances for a hit. And this is after "wasting" a round to cast the spell.

No reason to compare this to druids flame weapon, which is long duration and can buff party members and summons. This is caster only.

I would like to additionally bump the idea of dropping the damage amount and have the duration 1 round/level for arcane casters.

Maybe it could be adjusted to function like True Strike (instantaneous) or like Righteous Smite, the Divine spell, which gives you a Feat with a 60 sec cooldown usage.

Almost anything is better than 12 seconds.
