Covering for Ameris during his absence, Mi-Le's mornings and evenings with the children are generally spent doing brief meditation. The monk spends most meals with the children. His welcoming smile suggests that he is open to being approached, although he rarely initiates conversation.

The tutor from Candlekeep resumes her duties with her charges after a sojourn in Neverwinter. Her cheerful, helpful demeanor is ever-present, and she teaches her various lessons with enthusiasm and passion for the topics covered.

After over a ten-day away, Ameris and Telia are once more back in the city and Pathfinder's Hall. Ameris, however, does little more than check in before being called to some crisis in the Temple of Ilmater.

After over a ten-day away, Ameris and Telia are once more back in the city and Pathfinder's Hall. Ameris, however, does little more than check in before being called to some crisis in the Temple of Ilmater.

After seeing to his immediate duties with the children placed at Pathfinder Hall, as well as delegating responsibilities to the other guardians in the Hall, Aaron would be seen making his way towards the Temple of Ilmater shortly after Ameris.

Telia can be seen around Pathfinder Hall and has resumed the Theater trips with the children. In front of the children, she tries to smile and laugh but anyone observant would notice that she seems unrested and has used facial paints to cover up dark circles underneath her eyes and add colour to her skin which has become more pale.

More often lately, she excuses herself to sit down and just observe the children or is content with less straining activities, such as telling stories, when she is not working on other things unrelated to the care of the children.

Telia can be seen around Pathfinder Hall and has resumed the Theater trips with the children. In front of the children, she tries to smile and laugh but anyone observant would notice that she seems unrested and has used facial paints to cover up dark circles underneath her eyes and add colour to her skin which has become more pale.

Ameris is also back in the Pathfinder's Hall, although still much of his time is devoted to matters in the temple - catching up, perhaps - and he asks Mi-Le to keep on with the morning and evening duties just for now until they can talk about how to handle things in the future.

Those who know the Santraegers might start to notice Ameris being particularly attentive of Telia, in a way he believes is subtle - while he is around, that is, given temple duties. He fluffs pillows before she sits, brings her drinks unbidden, and asks, often, how she is. Indeed, he seems to treat her as if she is made of porcelain, not flesh and blood.

The sorceress quickly grows annoyed at this behaviour from her husband. At first, she would try to dismiss him and repeatedly state that everything is fine. The priest hovers around her like an unwanted fly however and she turns to more creative tactics to get rid of him.


"I think little Timmy needs some help reading, dear. You are so good with the children and have so much patience. Everyone else thinks Timmy is difficult but you. He is a lost young boy, surely you should tend to him a little..."


"Oh my, I heard a child cry out! You should see if they have not hurt themselves. I hope they did not break an arm or a leg. I can still hear them crying. You best get your first aid bag."


"I quite fancy myself some chocolates but we have none in the house. Such a shame it a rare and difficult thing to buy. I was looking all over the city for them but all the merchants I asked said they had none."


"I cannot find my best quill anywhere! I must have forgot it at the Shelf of Many Books... These other quills just do not write so well. Ink drops everywhere and the lines just do not come out as smooth."


"Would it not be lovely with some fresh flowers on the table? Buy ones from the market you say? But I have always liked the scent of the ones that grow in the farmlands the most... there is something about the closeness to trees that just makes them... better."


Clearly, the witch hopes that her plights will make Ameris leave her be at least for an hour before she has to try to swat him away again.

The sorceress quickly grows annoyed at this behaviour from her husband. At first, she would try to dismiss him and repeatedly state that everything is fine. The priest hovers around her like an unwanted fly however and she turns to more creative tactics to get rid of him.

Ameris does indeed buzz around like a fly; in the morning before going to the temple, when he runs back for lunch, at least a couple of other times during the day, and in the evening when he is most persistent.

"I think little Timmy needs some help reading, dear. You are so good with the children and have so much patience. Everyone else thinks Timmy is difficult but you. He is a lost young boy, surely you should tend to him a little..."

The priest does fall for this, going off to seek out Timmy for a reading session before bed, if the boy is willing.

Ameris disappears upstairs in a hurry; the witch does indeed have several minutes to spare, as her husband spends the time asking the caretakers and any passing children who has been hurt, and why.

"I quite fancy myself some chocolates but we have none in the house. Such a shame it a rare and difficult thing to buy. I was looking all over the city for them but all the merchants I asked said they had none."

This seems an unfamiliar task to Ameris. "I am not sure where to look. Should I just...ask again?"

If bid though, he would do so, or try at least. Such an undertaking is likely beyond his available free time.

He would be quite dismayed at his failure; and would try and find some peaches instead as substitute.

"Does the spine used really matter so much?" Ameris would ask, reluctant. "This is...needed?" He seems doubtful.

"Would it not be lovely with some fresh flowers on the table? Buy ones from the market you say? But I have always liked the scent of the ones that grow in the farmlands the most... there is something about the closeness to trees that just makes them... better."

For some reason, this seems to please the by now rather exhausted priest. "Of course beloved; it is proper to honour the Golden Goddess even within the stone of the city."

A pause, and a smile. "Perhaps the hall should have a flower box outside; you saw them in Tethyr, did you not?"

He would depart to obey her wish, and pick said flowers from the farmlands.

Off with you, priest," Sylvi wags her finger at Ameris and leaves before the priest has a chance to defend himself.

However, noticeably, he is somewhat more restrained in his doting on Telia than he was before, and seems to be very conciously limiting himself.

Still, his concern for the witch remains evident, even if better hidden than before Sylvi's dressing down.

At Ameris's request, Mi-Le has been continuing his morning and evening time with the children. The monk informs Ameris with a smile that he has no objection to continuing this arrangement indefinitely, if Ameris so wishes.

Timmy explains what is happening on each picture. He is very involved in his imaginary stories.

When the question is asked the boy looks oddly at Ameris as if the priest wasn't right in his head then laughs. "But you are ilmateri yes? So you are a priest of the broken god. Shouldn't you be broken, and beaten up and like him to be a good priest that takes all bad and pain, and suffering from others?" Timmy explains energetically, apparently having quite a vision about what being an Ilmatari priest means...

"I am Ilmatari, yes, and it is good for a priest to take the pain of others." He smiles as he speaks. "That does not always mean being beaten up though. But it can, and it has happened before. Sometimes though, it just means being brave and doing the right thing even though its not the easy thing."

Ameris looks through the pictures. "I do like that you draw me that way! Its very imaginative!"

He pauses. "Telia might like it if you do not always draw me hurting, though. Maybe you can draw me healing someone sometimes."

As their time together ends, Ameris remembers why he first actually came. "Timmy, we should practice your reading. How would this be? If I brought you a picture that I drew tomorrow, and if I do that, you promise to practice your reading with me?"

Ameris would return the next day, and present what can only be described as a well meaning artistic endeavour. He presents it to the child.

Hidden: show

Ameris explains the drawing. "Perytons are horrible monsters. Have you heard of them? They are like giant eagles with the heads of stags. They only eat human hearts. And only magic can kill them. My family used to have to hunt them where I grew up, as we had two magic swords. This is a picture of you and me fighting one to stop it eating Telia's heart! See, there is Silvyr. And there is Telia, can you see all the Mystran stars? But she is magic, so she doesn't really need our help!"

He points to the fireball at the last.
