Hi guys,
So this is my first character over 20. I just RCR'd him to have 3 levels of rogue. So I am currently 10 fighter, 5 tempest, 3 WM, 3 rogue. I TWF with scimitars. I did it to add evasion, open locks, and UMD. I also had to take able learner. I end up soloing slot because I tend to play in 1 to 2 hour windows as I play before and after work before my GF gets home from work. Doesn't leave me a lot of time to find parties to adventure with. Advise on if I should drop the rogue? Go with a different class? Or just go back to fighter and more WM quicker? Thanks for the help!

I would definitely advice to keep the rogue, especially if you are soloing a lot. UMD has a ton of uses and evasion/expose weakness are essential especially on low magic builds. I've never played a weapon master build but I have played several dual wield non buffing builds and you really need to be able to get your AC high in order to solo especially as you move into epics. Typically this is done by adding combat expertise and improved combat expertise which means you need the expose weakness to offset some of the AB lost. Evasion is just great to avoid those pesky aoe's. 12 fighter levels is ideal to get all of the weapon focus/specialization feats. You really want to save as many of the fighter levels as you can for the epic levels so you can use your bonus feats for that. aim for greater/epic weapon focus and specialization as well as melee weapon focus slashing for scimitars. It'll help especially vs. crit immunes.

You shouldn't drop the rogue, because of the evasion.
I would get 4 levels of rogue (because of uncanny dodge), but uncanny is only worth it if your dex is very high.
Unfortunately, your build configuration will bloom around level 25, and with the way things go in epic levels, that won't be any time soon with your available playing time.
Alternatively you could move levels in such way that you'll get 5th WM level before level 20. That'll boost your damage.
You should take most of the fighter levels in epic levels, because of all the tasty bonus feats (which you'll miss if if you'll be leveling WM in epics).

Here's quick TWF build:

This doesn't get Perfect Two Weapon fighting, though. Skill points are not fully allocated.

Here's a quicker TWF build http://nwn2db.com/build/?241707 if you prefer more defence over more crits. Oh and he is actually Quick with Dash and Fast Movement.
Notes:
1. I work my stats based on +3 items rather than relying on consumables
2. You don't really need Improved Critical because of new item available in shop
3. The builder overstates AB by 2 with OTWF; I prefer not to use that Feat for the increased weapon size and get extra AC instead
4. With the extra AC I didn't see the need for ICE or UD (meaning I keep 3 more AB)
It doesn't have WM though.

Fghter/Tempest/WM/Dervish is another interesting combo... but it is also a late bloomer and doesn't have evasion on it. Thousand cuts can deal massive damage during dervish dance.Thorsson wrote: It doesn't have WM though.
Tempest, Dervish and whirling dervish combine well with weapon master, because they take care of some of the prerequesite feats. Dervishes grant spring attack Tempest grants whirlwind.

I played this build with a few tweaks on my main character for quite a long time, only recently changing it. It is a good solo build and you can solo some of the server bosses with it. I would keep CE/ICE and take deadly defense for a bit more damage as dervish dance and thousand cuts have limited number of uses. I did it with kukri's but it would work well with handaxes I think also if that fits better. Then you could skip OTWF.Thorsson wrote:Here's a quicker TWF build http://nwn2db.com/build/?241707 if you prefer more defence over more crits. Oh and he is actually Quick with Dash and Fast Movement.

My version already has Deadly Defense. OFC you can take ICE at the cost of ITWD, meaning 2 more AC at the cost of 3AB if on. I prefer the extra AB when I want to confirm critical hits - if you need AC you can always Dance.finneas wrote:I played this build with a few tweaks on my main character for quite a long time, only recently changing it. i was looking into both the dervish and WD. I was thinking that WD might be better than rogue even though i will end up having a few less skill points. I'm going to try and make some of the builds using the website and post them. See how different they will be. Thank you all for the help!
