I think it is pertinent for a first-timer to know the Lore of the Lands (IC), and if playing a Character favored by Talos—a God that is rather brutal and direct in dogma—they should specifically be aware of, within Baldur's Gate and the Controlled Environs:

- Public Preaching of Dogma, Rituals or Public Display of Symbols of the following Gods is severely punishable by up to banishment or death, as determined by judicial ruling: Bane, Bhaal, Loviatar, Malar, Myrkul, Shar and Talos. Judicial ruling resulting in execution, will be public and final (OOC: a perma-strike against convicted PC).

Fun is not always relevant, when your Toon gets a Perma-strike on their second day at the office.

I thought I already tried to warn about this, but it seems that it sailed above not only the OP's head, but others as well.

I would definitely avoid making a Talossan as your first real character. It will only end in tears...

That may be, but he is specifically outlawed in Baldur's Gate, with display of his symbols.. not to mention preaching or rituals.. punishable by banishment or death.

It won't be easy to be a lay-low embodiment of destruction.

The alignment won't matter IC.

The only source of strength that stacks is Barbarian Rage, so you can forget Bull's.

Divine Favor is very short lived. Use it for tough fights only; there are a lot of competing buffs at that level. OTOH you can also use Prayer on Boss fights.
