Thank you

Re: Stealing Guild Halls From Guilds.
Some years ago, I asked the DM team at the time about this.
The answer was that you couldn't do anything without the guild's/guildleader's full consent.

Keep it close, eat with it, sleep with it. Care for a guild hall that is entrusted to you.
Or.. did that mean, you.. consider to _get_ more then one?

Re: Stealing Guild Halls From Guilds.
This is the problem with Guilds and Guild Halls having NPCs—how do you steal, or rob, or destroy a Guild Hall when there are always NPCs on guard? Or, somehow epic super soldiers.
But considering that guild halls are usually a huge investment both IC and OOC, it would be best practice to make guild "stealing" a collaborative effort. But then again...how many Players would risk losing their precious?!?

Is this concerning a currently Active guild's Guild Hall or one that has died and is no longer in use?

This likely falls under the unwritten "don"t be a douche" clause of the rules.

@ Lisa.
The question stemmed from a disagreement with a player who seems to have been under the misconception that someone else wanted to steal my pc's ship ic. (The player later telling me that perception was incorrect.)
I simply wanted to clarify the actual rules in regard to this as I was unable to find specific reference to them in the server rules, but seemed to vaguely recall having read that it was in fact against the rules to do so. (Which I now see I may have confused with the post regarding infiltration. )
The responses I received , however, have been of great value.
Thank you all.

You contact dm team regarding this matter.Silver_Lining wrote:I would just like someone to please clarify the server's exact rules concerning
There is no entry of the rules that mentions possibility of stealing a guild hall. There is an entry that describes infiltrator's behavior when infiltrator starts pvp in guild hall and wins the pvp. Infiltrator is obliged to leave, because npcs in the guild hall would remove him/her.
Well it would be reasonable for someone to try to steal your ship IC. (Try stealing a town or a fortress). However, there's no entry in the rules on that matter, as far as I know. This stuff will be still handled by DM, I suppose.Silver_Lining wrote: The question stemmed from a disagreement with a player who seems to have been under the misconception that someone else wanted to steal my pc's ship ic.

Re: Stealing Guild Halls From Guilds.
But even with NPCs/guards that are there, who's to say (DMs obviously) the group of players doing whatever couldn't kill them all? Obviously DMs would be needed for any sort of guild hall takeover but if there is a good IC reason for the players to be doing it then why wouldn't this sort of thing be allowed?Steve wrote:This is the problem with Guilds and Guild Halls having NPCs—how do you steal, or rob, or destroy a Guild Hall when there are always NPCs on guard? Re: Stealing Guild Halls From Guilds.
It has been a long standing paradigm that DMs stay clear of Guild vs. Guild issues, unless needed to arbitrate when either the Players request it, or the RP demands it.AlexBnt wrote: But even with NPCs/guards that are there, who's to say (DMs obviously) the group of players doing whatever couldn't kill them all? PCs cannot just "kill them all" NPCs of a Guild. I mean, sure they could, but it won't happen.
Not to speak for the DMs, but...my take on it from the past is: unless both Guilds are in OOC agreement on the RP—however that has developed—there ain't gonna be no guild stealin'!
If anything should be possible...it should be the ability to "take over" Guild Halls that lay idle, ie., the PCs/Players in that Guild are AFK and/or AWOL. But since NPCs never sleep, never age...one can never do your own Occupy Movement. Where have all the squatters gone?!?

Because of modern rights attributed to player stuff. Removing stuff from players often leads to drama and leaving the server.AlexBnt wrote:
