Re: Potion of Sending
You do a sending to end the spell...And how do i get rid of this error message?
Once you've cast the spell you have to enter a specifically formatted message as if it were speech. You can whisper it too if you don't want people listening in:
<receiver's name> Message: <message>e.g.
Lord Farquaad Message: Dulac is under attack by ogres!Hope that helps.

*ahem* I make sure all my customers are aware of the usage and limitations of all except the most common of purchases.
And as you may note, for the sake of public safety I even provide aftermarket service to the customers of other brewers.

Re: Potion of Sending
I remember when I first started brewing these. No one knew they could be made. Some even called me a fraud! (ICly of course.. Good fun
)
Anyways, NeonAvenger explained it correctly. Keep in mind that if you mess up the message format, you can always send a tell. As long as you actually drink the elixir and say/whisper your message, I don' think it's an issue.
Another thing to consider is the reduced casting time. Casting a normal sending spell (it takes 6 rounds) in a desperate situation is unlikely. Not so with elixirs of sending! This makes them useful even for casters. ///end shameless plug

I remember when someone proposed "stone of sending" item to be added to the stores, and proposition was shot down because "characters shouldn't have cell phones in fantasy games". Oh well.

Re: Potion of Sending
The supply of brewed potions is far more restricted than that of infinite shop items.... If the potions were infinitely available in shops then it would be similar.NegInfinity wrote:I remember when someone proposed "stone of sending" item to be added to the stores, and proposition was shot down because "characters shouldn't have cell phones in fantasy games". I don't feel either way about it. I suspect (player) crafters would lose business.

Re: Potion of Sending
Characters who can cast the spell already have cell phones. No need for a stone.
