And I do mean by "Class/PrC," as the defining aspect. For example: Divine Champion. A "...strong right arm of their deity." However, they do not pray for their power (Clerics), are bound to their God for power (Paladin), or must have secret knowledge and some sort of indoctrination to their power (Shadow Adept).
Now, I'm not saying that a Fighter who has faith has equal chance to receive directive/omens/signs/guidance/blessing/etc from their Patron Deity, as say a Cleric would—in 99% of the time—but is it that if your PC does not have divine-empowered Classes/PrCs, is your PC incapable of reaching the ear, and the attention, of your PC's God? Or, is this by individual DM prerogative?
And, additionally...(if anyone on the Team wants to go there): to what extent would a PC have a sense of "reliance" on the divine power of their God, or, that their God—or her extension in Avatars or Chosens—is capable/willing to hear them? And when I say hear them, in terms of the back and forth of prayer, both given and answered?
My quick research and thoughts are conflicted, personally. First, we see/experience direct power of the Gods via spells and Feat powers (Divine line of feats, for example). Though that is mechanics based, we do have the "play your Character sheet" guidelines—divine power is a pretty straightforward empowerment and granting, by a divine source.
But to counter this, we have the upcoming Time of Troubles—a short few years from now!
I read that as the Gods NOT being very attentive to their faithful. So again, what constitutes being faithful, and to what extent is the Class/PrC definitive of the "degree" of faith, and powers of faith, and the ear of a god?Angry at the gods for their habitual pursuit of power and negligence toward their mortal faithful, Lord Ao relegated every god (except for the guardian god Helm, to walk among their followers on the earth
I ask this in regard to what Players on BGTSCC, in particular, can expect. Thank you.
