Leiran druid

Unread post by Maximvs »

I was thinking of making a cleric of Leira. I like this server for that. The presence of Leira. She's quite an interesting goddess, well, assuming she is really female! But since this server also allows Leiran druids, I was considering making one.

I've questions to ask...

Do Leiran druids get druid spells to better infiltrate and fool druids, or do they genuinely care about nature?
Is her dominion over mists an important part of her druidic aspect?
Is her main focus to hide and conceal important natural sites? And if not, what is her main focus?
Can anyone give more information and theme before I create one?
MmmmMMMMmmm, tasty humanz, hmmmmMMM!!!

Leira, like a couple other deities (like Kelemvor) is not a druidic deity by lore. Rather, she is a druidic deity by virtue of bugsidian and their oversight. I wouldn't suggest making one, personally. If you are keen on it, you won't find any lore support. And I wouldn't count on DM support either, though, that is up to them to decide.

This would present its own problems, too.

What are the duties/role/responsibility/etc of Leiran druids? This is usually set out in some source book/other source. If the DMs support it, it is their responsibility to post information about it. Since, as far as I am aware, there is no information on Leiran druids on either the fourms or the wiki, do we make up anything we want?

I suppose the most plausible solution would be to take a cleric's duties from any source and copy it over. For Leira, I would assume that it is compatible with a druid's strictly neutral code, but what if it isn't?

I suppose this at least does supply an answer for Maximvs. Take what is supplied in source material regarding Leira's clerics/priests/clergy and use that for the druid. That is your best bet, for now. Maybe omit anything that would prevent the character from being neutral.

To be honest, there has been a long history of allowing druids of all elemental gods on the server. Quite many people allow that in their own personal D&D tabletop campaigns.

A druid of Leira however, is a bit out there. I would advise you to send a PM to the DM team regarding that.
