Rumours of Sshamath

Rumors may circulate among the residents of Sshamath's Darkwoods, that late last cycle unusual singing may have been heard.

It's said that a member of one of the schools has been speaking with Conclave and charnag Maelthra officials warning of a potential threat within Sshamath walls. He warns that local radicalized Llolthites have been growing steadily and will be a major threat. He believes this is due to foreign agents trying to overthrow the Conclave. He argues that this is important especially with the Ghaunadaur cult threat outside of the city, a threat from inside the city would not help the current situation. The solution he proposes is a crack down on those spreading this line of thought

There has been talk of the Ghaunadaur worshiping priest Urebril walking into a Llolthite Enclave with two others. It's said Urebril didn't leave with them, people have assumed the worst as he hasn't been seen since..

In the Bazaar, within the enclave of Svirfneblin traders, a different...vibe...or commotion occurs, noticeable to the sensitive, or, any with attention or need from the Deep Gnomes.

It would seem a particularly reclusive member of the local bloodline had visited the Bazaar. A Stone Mystic.

The known stone mystic would remain active in his trading in the Bazaar, and once identified, approachable.

A Drow trader named Val'dur has been asking around about his missing brother, Urebril. He wasn't able to get much beyond one name "Irritana". So he has been asking about her whereabouts.

anyone who would have such information should contact Val'dur Ghaunadaun. Val'dur's market stall is usually set up beside or across the Gloura's Wings tavern.

A bald-headed, black robed human was marched down the Z'Orr'Bauth into Sshamath at the forceful command of a heavily armoured drowess. After a brief chat with Caldor Tir'en at the top of the central spire, she took him to the Stonestave for interrogation by the Conclave.

Upon presentation to the Stave Keeper, she explained that this human was found in the company of two elves who were stirring up the Kanahraun cultists in the old ruins of Ogrann. She recounts how the elves were struck down after refusing to surrender their weapons, whereas the human submitted. She suggests that he be thoroughly interrogated about the Cult of the Eye which has been troubling the city of late and leaves him under the Conclave's power. She also hands the Conclave a small golden pin in the shape of a phoenix, taken from the corpse of one of the fallen, saying it was the only item found which indicated potential affiliations of the two deceased elves.

Rumours spread within the city of magic that the bureaucracy council advising the conclave in certain matters regarding the city, is about to hold a meeting in a few cycles. Why they gather and what may be spoken about remains uncertain to the citizens of S'shamath ...

A newcomer has been spotted deep in the underdark making dark dealings with a Drider after handing over a stolen idol of Llolth

Within the Darkwood District, a new svirfneblin could be seen walking around slowly, viewing what the district had to offer. Physically he was a typical male of his species, but with one eye covered with an eye patch cloth and sporting a most unusual haircut. Hungry eyes followed his path and waited until he walked down a narrow street before deciding that he was an easy victim. Silently they glided down that same street, weapons poised.

Moments later the svirfneblin walked out from the alley, looking exactly as he did prior to entering it.

Inquiries are being made by an overly inquisitive Svirfneblin seeking out others of his race. Most of the time he receives sneers or just completely ignored, though there were a few great leads which pleased him. One of a svirfneblin with great skill in combat whom he was given the location to in the Gloura's Wing of the Darkwood District.

The second was supposedly a mystery, for not many know of this svirfneblin mystic. A myth, maybe?

In the last weeks, a rumor within the Bazaar travels, that the svirfneblin merchants were unusually active, with the appearance of a particularly dressed gnome, bearing minerals and gems to trade.

It is also rumored this svirfneblin was in conversation with a mercenary-looking Drow...and that whatever they spoke of within the confines of the Svirfenblin merchant's tent, it ended amicably.

If there was to be any follow up to these rumors...the known Svirfneblin tent would be a place to start.

After a few turnings, numerous inquiries and and informational leads attained from his own stall has led Yarko to this particular merchant in the Dark Weavings Bazaar. If his information is correct, Grom is one of the few in the city that has contact with the mystic of stone called Olofalcon. After exchanging a few Svirfneblin pleasantries, Yarko makes his desire known that he would like to meet with Olofalcon to discuss the Svirfneblin presence within Sshamath.

In hallways all but abandoned, the uneven footsteps of Zau'afin's Weaponmaster echo again. Rumors seep out of the gates by way of the guards that he has taken the empty throne for himself, presumably in trust, until he can create a new Ilharess.

A Zau'afin Fearn contemplates bringing new blood from distant tunnels. He begins to plot and plan.

A necromancer in a top hat dressed in all white was seen roaming around the tunnels outside the city with two females, one matron of the Zauafin house and the other the dreadful and sinister Lissal of the Coven. The three were seen destroying anything they found within the tunnels they roamed all while chatting and laughing .
