Re: a new D&D movie
Well this one is going to be from Warner Brothers so i guess the budget will be much higher than it was for the others.
I have watched all of them (i think) there was one that i found rather enjoyable all of the other ones were pretty cringeworthy though. I hope this one is going to be good.
I would still very much love a Drizzt movie done by Peter Jackson ... please ... the war of the spider queen series would be really awesome too

A good and well placed movie could've made DnD 100 times more popular. It certainly had the material, but Gary Gygax and the rest of the crew were too busy fighting each other. And Wizard of the Coast is ... inert.

Re: a new D&D movie
War of the Spider Queen would certainly be dark enough to pick up after GoT but some parts are bound to be toned down I believe. Not sure its a wise move to start Epic level either.
Id rather see Depths of Madness, Homeland or the Undead triology (did someone say love story gone bad?) as stand alone movies/tripart tv-series before any extended season tv-series.
Edit:
Starting with the Drizzit would give the major audience some pretty faulty ideas about the average drow, well unless you start with Homeland.

We don't need another Peter Jackson/Orlando Bloom collaboration...

Who could say anything against a shield surfing elf?

Let's cross Peter Jackson and George RR Martin off the list. DnD isn't a sexual game.

Re: a new D&D movie
I feel that CGI is getting cheap enough that even that last D&D movie wasn't totally cheesy. Warcraft is a good example of what can be done with magic these days (although not all of it looked great. . .)
Perhaps with some known actors/actresses we will see the first well done movie in a series? Just a damn shame it won't be based on AI's adventures
I could totally picture Vin Diesel as Omin Dran.

Re: a new D&D movie
I would love Homeland, Exile, and Sojourn in movie. That would be perfect. Even just Homeland, maybe; that was the best one.
It was a fun year (I think). Bye.
