Couple ways to check for what's causing crashes... but no exact way to tell unless you're Skywing who can decompile the crash dump logs...

Default game folder each time the server crashes it makes a nwn2_server_errorlog.txt file. You can get a rough idea generally of what's causing crashes from that. Memory leaks from the nwn2server client is usually caused by some kind of script ... dll crashes like NWN2_MemoryMgr_amdxp.dll is usually caused by memory leaks and stuff. Programs on Windows CAN crash the server client... ntdll.dll crashes is usually caused by Windows. You can also check the event viewer log. MYSQL crashes can take the server down with it...

For most part crashes are random without any real specific cause... repeat crashes are usually caused by something going wonky on the module...

I would also suggest a program called cleanmem: http://www.pcwintech.com/cleanmem It automatically clears out your memory cache and also significantly cuts down the amount of memory the server client is using. Make sure you got all the up to date nwnx bug fix plugins as well.

Examples of scripts I seen that are crashy are ones that play with negative numbers or are calling players that don't exist.

nwn2_memorymgr_amdxp.dll will attempt to load at start but in many cases is not used throughout nwserver's lifecycle.

Thanks Haven, thanks AoS. :) I'm sure our tech team will find some kernels of wisdom or hints in all this.

As always, much obliged.

I don't understand what you're driving at. It won't start without it, whether it uses it or not, so what exactly is the advice here..?

Thanks for the advice, ComeAndSee. :) I'll pass the information along to Duster and Ras.

I'm regarding his affirmation of that particular dll. It's a requirement, yes, but it's usage is only used sporadically. It's likely not pertinent to the issue when previously identified as largely useless.

I just saw the server has been up for 1 hour mark not long ago before server went down. Also was experiencing lag prior to the crash.

Looks like it's being DDoSed. The server reboots after a while, only to immediately go down again when it has 0/75 players.

Before it went down the message popped up "Server going down NOW!" in a whisper colored server message.

Server repeatedly crashing.

I wonder if with all the RCRs lately the likelyhood of corrupted chars has gone up and therefor the crashing increased.
