Insanely high Ping

Hello!

So since today i have a riddicolously high ping to the server. It takes me forever to log in and once i made it finally in i have insane lag. Ive talked to a few people and it seems i am the only one suffering this type of lag.

Yesterday everything was still working fine but now i got this problem. My internet is working fine it is only BGTSCC lagging this crazy.

Any ideas?

I have the crazy lag as well but I figured it was just my net.

ping is good - but crazy lag also.

lootbags need two clicks to open,
from 3-4 enemies, 2 standing idle doing nothing watching me figthing the others ......

I still cant play at all. Logging in takes half an hour and even if i make it in i have insane lag.

I'll flag this issue to the sysop. I'm not sure if it's DDOS related or if something server-side is stressing the server's connectivity. But the sysop is smarter than I am, especially when it comes to stuff like this, so she may be able to provide some additional insight.

Otherwise, we're hoping to continue troubleshooting the code and and server setup now that things have started to settle down after the server move.

So, as far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with the server. We're not under DDOS attack, and most of the players I've reached out to aren't experiencing any sort of lag. We have plenty of RAM, CPU, and bandwidth to spare, the NWNX4/nwn2server application isn't choking out, and other than the (seemingly regular) crash we just had, everything seems to be running normally.

This might be an issue with your ISP, or your PC settings. Have you tried the game from a different computer on the same network?

No unfortunately there is no other PC i can test it on.

I tried Sigil it works fine. I can play there with no lag. I tried Guild Wars 2 and also League of Legends. Both work fine aswell.

Its only BGTSCC thats having this type of lag.

I tried to deactivate my firewall and my anti virus program but didnt help

Have you tried logging into BGTSCC, with a new user/NWN2 name, and create a new Character from scratch?

I tried that just now but having the same issue with a different user + new character

What is in your Overrides folder? There are actually 2, one in the NWN2 files for the User, one for the Program.

If it just started today, hopefully it'll pass just as suddenly and quickly?

As far as I know, we haven't changed anything or done any updates since yesterday.

But if you're still lagging heavy after the weekend we can try to open a ticket with our host to see if they can look at our own Internet settings. I'm not sure why it'd be an issue just you are experiencing though?

There's a possibility that it's down to your ISP and the route they use to get to BGTSCC.
